Truck is being sold by the City of Milford Public Works Department (Milford, Delaware). It was used by both the Streets Department, and more recently the Parks and Recreation Department in the maintenance of parks (and thus hauled lawnmowers, line trimmers, light brush, etc). At this time the vehicle is being retired from the Parks and Recreation fleet. It is has been owned since new by the City of Milford, was purchased from a local dealer, and has been regularly maintained by our own Garage. It has been serviced at the required intervals (oil changes every 3000 miles). The vehicle’s exterior is showing signs of age, and the paint exterior is faded. There are faint impressions on the side doors of the City logo. The bed is exhibiting signs of surface rust, and there is also a rusted area on the driver’s side floor. There is a small dent in the front bumper. Mechanically the vehicle appears to be sound; starts easily, no engine knocking, does not blow smoke, idles fine, has good acceleration. Brakes appear to be ok. The Hydraulics on dump body work fine, and the bed raises and lowers smoothly. Unknown if vehicle would pass emissions, wheels and tires are in good condition. Truck is 2WD. Interior of vehicle is in reasonable condition. There are rips in the driver’s seat. Dashboard is dusty, and the entire cabin needs to be cleaned. There are cracks in the dashboard. Door panels seem ok and window handles operate. There is no AC (although the heater and fan are operational) basic radio, wipers, lights, horn and strobe light all work. Seatbelts are operational. Truck has recently had a new radiator and water pump installed (within the last year). Battery seems to be solid. No check engine light comes on (although it is shown lit up in one photo-key had just been turned to get the digital mileage). There are three known issues with this truck: 1. There is a rusted rear spring hanger. 2. There is a small leak in the exhaust (our mechanic suspects an EGR tube leak). 3. There is a small leak in the transmission (mechanic suspects a torque converter seal is the issue). The truck is a solid vehicle and runs strong, and with minor effort would make a good dump truck for a landscaper, contractor, etc. Vehicle is being sold “As Is”, with a clear title. There is NO RESERVE price on this vehicle, highest bidder will win auction. No warranty or guarantee of the vehicle is either expressed or implied. Buyer will be made to sign a waiver releasing the City of Milford from any responsibility and liability, for purchasing, transporting, or operating the vehicle. Vehicle may be inspected upon request, with prior arrangement (Monday-Friday 8am-3pm), however due to liability issues it may not be driven. Vehicle must be picked up from our yard, located at 180 Vickers Drive, Milford DE, 19963 within 10 working days (unless prior arrangement is agreed upon). Buyer assumes responsibility for all and any costs associated with purchasing, removing and transporting, titling and insuring vehicle. Note: As this is a government vehicle it has an exempt tag. Tag will not be provided with vehicle. Please note that if buyer wants to drive vehicle off City property after purchase, a temporary (valid) tag will have to be provided and proof of insurance (to be arranged and provided by the buyer). Method of payment must be in the form of a Cashier’s check made out to “The City of Milford” in the agreed upon amount, or cash, due within seven days of the close of the auction.
