Based on the regular, light-duty F-150 series, the Super Duty has different styling, roomier interiors, and stronger chassis and engines. The Lariat versions include all of the upgrades! This 2002 Ford Super Duty F250 Lariat XL Crew Cab Diesel is made for those who are looking for power, speed, and economical efficiency!! It is powered by a 7.3-liter diesel engine and an automatic transmission, which Ford claims have an improved shift feel from previous models. It also includes a new transmission-temperature gauge, as an added measure of safety. Single-beam, jewel-effect headlights have replaced the aero-style headlights. A six-way power passenger seat is standard in Lariat Crew Cab versions such as this one. It also has a passenger-side front grab handle, as opposed to other versions. All Super Duty models have a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) — the maximum allowable weight of a vehicle, its occupants and its cargo — of more than 8,500 pounds. For that reason, they are exempt from the federal safety requirements that lighter-duty trucks and cars must meet. Ford claims that its heavy-duty models outsell similar models from Chevrolet and Dodge combined. Exterior The styling differences between Ford’s light-duty F-150 and the Super Duty models are most evident up front, where a massive grille dominates the Super Duty’s nose. This is a four-door SuperCab model. It can seat up to 6 passengers, if the need calls for it. The bed is 8 feet long, with plenty of cargo room. With a diesel engine, this three-quarter-ton F-250 Super Duty truck can tow as much as 12,500 pounds. Interior This Lariat version has leather captain’s chairs and power seats. The split, front bench seat includes a folding center armrest that has enough space inside to stow a laptop computer. The back seats also have a folding center that can be used as an armrest, as well as plenty of room. According to Ford, the seats in the Lariat models have increased bolster height and shoulder width for 2002. Under the Hood This Lariat edition is made specific for those who want the highest level of power!! It has the Power Stroke 7.3-liter engine, turbo-diesel V-8, which yields 250 hp and 505 pounds-feet of torque. This model is equipped with an automatic transmission. It is a 4 wheel drive with an airbag restraint system. This particular F250 Lariat XL Crew Cab TURBO DIESEL is in great shape. Just look at the pictures and judge for yourself.
