2003 WRX with Mods but Knocking Engine. Buyer must pick up, car should not/cannot be driven! The Good: This car has been modded carefully and tastefully. All of these mods have been done by mechanics in shops that specialize in Subaru's. The biggest modification is a recent upgrade (8/12/10) from the stock 2.0 block to an EJ257 2.5 block. Of course, as you read about the engine issues, that upgrade is rendered relatively moot. Here's the list: - Replaced: Timing Belt, Tensioners, Water Pump Gaskets- All fluids Flushed and Replaced - Machined Flywheel - Valve Seals and Heads Cleaned etc Other:- Car recently aligned (on 2/16/11) after the damage on the front lip was sustained. Drives STRAIGHT. The Bad: First the big one, the engine: it starts and turns over, but knocks badly. You will need to rebuild it. Beyond that, I don't know the extent of the damage or what will need replaced. I would get into it myself but I just finished college and lost my job in the same 3 months. I have no cash and have to sell : ( There some other MUCH smaller issues, but I want to be totally upfront here. As you can see in the pictures, one of the arms on the muffler is broke loose and will need to be fixed. Not a big issue. You can also see in the engine pic that the adjustment screen on the Blowoff Valve is gone. It worked its way loose and was gone just before the engine knocked started so I discovered them both at the same time. Also, not a hard fix. Finally there VERY recently I heard little bit of rubbing coming from one of the rear wheels, I think it's just a warped rotar and should be easy to confirm and replace. General Condition: Interior - The interior is in very, very good shape. The biggest problem is the plastic molding on one of the rear window switches cracked and won't stay in place. Window still works totally fine. Purely cosmetic. Beyond that there are no tears in any of the seats. The carpet is in great shape and I just got new WRX mats. Exterior - The biggest issue with the exterior is some damage to the lower passenger side front lip. You can see this in one of the pictures. Beyond that the car has all of the usual minor nicks and scrapes an 8-year old car will have (especially one with Subby's weak white paint). There's a protective skin on the very front of the hood to prevent a lot of the most serious chipping etc. I've taken some pics of the more noticeable trouble spots so you can see the worst of it. Transmission - Transmission is like new. Additionally there's a new Exedy clutch with less than 7k miles on. I've never raced/dragged or launched the car. Extra Wheels: You'll see in the final picture I'm including a set of aftermarket wheels as well - no extra cost. The wear on one of the tires enough that it will need to be replaced. Finally... Buying used cars, especially modded cars with major mechanical problems is always a big gamble. I've tried to be as up-front with all of the car's known issues as possible, I want you to know what you're getting.
