1959 Ford Thunderbird Convertible rare J code all original except engine was a 430 and replaced with a 352. The previous owner had plans to restore it and purchased a complete 430 block (that pictures will show) in 2002 complete with carb etc.. for $1100 and planed on replacing the 352 when he was going to restore the car. The 352 runs beautiful and he decided to drive the car the way it is until he had more money for restoration. He never got to the restoration and we got the car the way he has been driving it. It has been sitting since 2007 in his garage. When I picked up the T bird, I put a battery in it, filled a couple low tires with air, and it started right up and drove it on my trailer. The most I drove this car was about 5 miles and 50 mph. The car has original paint and original interior. It has a new dash pad. The power top has been disconnected as he was going to rebuild the power cylinder in the trunk ( cylinder included and in trunk.) The top works manually now. The deck lid releases the way it should. The hood releases the way it should. It is missing one fender skirt and the other is there. It does not have the original hubcaps. The power windows work slow when I picked up the car, but sometimes they do not work. The car has a exhaust noise so I assume it will need new exahust. It does not smoke and the trans shifts great. There is no abnormal engine noise. The brakes work but feel soft. All of the guages are working but the fuel guage was sporatic. The factory radio is there but I could not get it to turn on. The turn signals worked intermitently. The oil light and gen light on the dash were not working. The 430 block engine was stored inside the previous owners garage but I moved it outside for better pictures then put it back inside. I have no information on the condition of 430 block but it is complete. This is a great car for restoration being that it has the 430 j code and 430 engine with it, or you can restore the car for daily driver usage and save the 430 engine for later. I have a clean and clear minnesota title with numbers matching. It will take very little to make it road worthy as a daily driver. This is a very rare find as it is a unmolested body and original paint that could be taken to the next level very easily. I took 70 plus pictures and a HD video to give you an accurate idea of what the T bird is now. Feel free to come and drive and inspect the car or call me for any info I may have left out.
