1959 Porsche 356A Drauz Convertible VIN number 86665 All numbers matching with the VIN Drauz plate except the missing engine An Interesting car for any Porsche collector. This Porsche 59 A (last year for the A) is a rare Drauz body, not many around considering the low production from 55/59. The 59 had the lowest numbers made of the whole production run... This specific car comes from California and it has a clean CA title with it It’s currently painted but the correct way to go is to start all over again from the ground up and restore it properly...the floors are the original ones but they need to be straightened and painted properly, so I will clearly say it will need a FULL ground up restoration The Drauz plate is still attached to the A pillar where you can see the VIN numbers matching the whole body and the color code. I’m not a Porsche expert but should be metallic grey according to the info I collected...experts will know for sure. The main thing missing here is the engine, lost years ago who knows where but it was a normal 1600cc.... Tranny is mounted in the car, condition unknown The doors are matching the body since they have the last two numbers (65) stamped on and consequently are the originals belonging to this car. Same for the hood and trunk hinges are originals to the car and all four stamped properly the last number (5) Interior is brand new leather as well for the ragtop...it has been done in dark blue color and no idea if is correct for this car Body it might have some bondo in and there, hard to say since car it’s painted but shouldn’t be so bad according to the great solid door conditions (fully pictured) I do have the Porsche body gold emblems (2 of them) brand new going with the car There is a bag with some more trimmings and moldings Besides the engine there should be many parts missing..Small details for sure but is hard to say exactly which ones... I made tons of quality pics to show any detail of the car so they should speak by themselves... The underneath part of the doors is solid as above, really solid metal there The worse part I could see is the floors, which are in need of straightening and some metalwork too A Drauz convertible is a rare car to find and not many available anywhere...this will be a great investment when done and a cool car to drive It comes with a clean CA (California) title Please, no emails for trades or low ball offers, the owner is NOT desperate to sell it. Note that a twin grill bar has been added in the trunk...which is NOT correct for this car since originally comes with a SINGLE grill ...the lower louvered part looks untouched. So previously somebody liked the twin grill style and added a central bar on the top...i checked the lower part of the trunk and its the original one as far i could see it.
