This 1961 MGA 1600 was restored and has been a pleasure to own. The body is in great shape and was repainted red but it was a good job. The brakes and clutch hydraulics work well and the transmission shifts great. The front suspension was rebuilt with new front shocks and bushings and the radiator was replaced by a factory looking unit that actually cools better than the old style fins used in the MGA. The MGA carbs were rebuilt and they idle well. Please be aware of the following improvements: I installed an Early MGB head with a high performance five angle valve job and hardened seats for unleaded gas. These early MGB heads haveo get bigger valves and better air flow(similar to the MKII MGA), A new heater valve was installed with the rebuilt head. The fuel pump is not an SU unit but is just as load, one small 12 volt battery is powering the electrics, I installed the Moss fan shroud to help the factory fan draw more air across the radiator . Notice the picture of the Oil pressure/ Temp gauge in the heat in Louisiana while driving around town. The car does not run hot and produces great oil pressure. The car has aftermarket seat belts which look correct for the time period. The paint is shinny and I get lots of compliments but please be aware of the normal imperfections from actually driving the car. The wooden dash is not factory but in addition to looking nice it has a cell phone charging cigarette lighter which works. The top looks good but like all MGA tops it leaks. The tires have lots of tread and all the lights work. If you are not sure the car will reliably drive you home I will refund your deposit when you come to pick it up.
