I purchased this car from an older gentleman who was the original owner. He told me this car cost him $500.00 less than a limousine would have cost him; that’s how expensive this car was. He ordered it from Capitol Cadillac Oldsmobile Co. in Washington, DC. It was delivered on 12-17-1969. I have the Protecto Plate as well as the original owner’s manual. The title shows 88K ACTUAL miles but the car has 132K original miles. Quoted from www.automotivemileposts.com this unique Eldo was: “Not a factory option, the del Caballero was available for all 1967-1970 Eldorados. Consisting of a heavy chrome-plated grille enclosure, special wheel covers, a padded landau vinyl roof with stainless steel crossover band that eliminated the rear vent windows, simulated S-bars on the roof rear quarters, textured stainless steel or vinyl insert door sill trim, "del Caballero" script on the front fenders, and limousine-style rear window. Various stand-up grille ornaments were available, as was a power sunroof, at additional charge.The del Caballero was created by George Barris' Kustom City in North Hollywood, California. Barris is best known for his custom work on the "Batmobile", which was of course originally the 1955 Lincoln Futura show car. Barris also customized cars for celebrities and anyone else who could afford the cost of distinction. Barris contracted with Universal Coach of Los Angeles and Detroit to build these specially-ordered cars, which could be ordered through any Cadillac dealer.Depending on equipment chosen, the del Caballero package added $2,500 to $4,500 to the sticker price” Unique in appearance, this Cadillac was ordered with just about every option. It was repainted in 1976 because the car was taken in a divorce and hid for years. When re-located, the owner decided to repaint because some surface rust had developed due to a leaking roof where the car was concealed. The paint has a very deep shine. See pictures of reflections, they are VERY clear. The roof shows the most age (from pillars up). It is a driver quality car which actually runs and drives EXCELLENT. You can hardly hear it run it’s so smooth. The A/C does not blow cold. The car has always been professionally maintained with no expenses spared. The owner installed a viper alarm system which I found out works quite well. Part of the Del Caballero package is a sliding sunroof which also works well. The chrome is in brilliant (See picture of mirror reflection). There are a couple minor dings in rear chrome near taillight. There is some bubbling on some areas of the body which is pictured. The vinyl top is original and has been repaired at the seams (looks like a clear epoxy glue) but is in nice shape and is original. The interior is all original and in EXCELLENT shape. No rips or even signs of wear in the seats. The seats are in excellent condition. Headliner is in good shape but does show some age. All power windows operate well. The doors shut like new and do NOT sag at all. Original floor mats are in excellent condition. Don’t miss on this opportunity to own a car you will most likely never see anyone else driving. Up for auction is a super rare SUPERFLY 1970 Cadillac Eldorado Del Caballero. I purchased this car from an older gentleman who was the original owner. He told me this car cost him $500.00 less than a limousine would have cost him; that’s how expensive this car was. He ordered it from Capitol Cadillac Oldsmobile Co. in Washington, DC. It was delivered on 12-17-1969. I have the Protecto Plate as well as the original owner’s manual. The title shows 88K ACTUAL miles but the car has 132K original miles.

Consisting of a heavy chrome-plated grille enclosure, special wheel covers, a padded landau vinyl roof with stainless steel crossover band that eliminated the rear vent windows, simulated S-bars on the roof rear quarters, textured stainless steel or vinyl insert door sill trim, "del Caballero" script on the front fenders, and limousine-style rear window. Various stand-up grille ornaments were available, as was a power sunroof, at additional charge.

The del Caballero was created by George Barris' Kustom City in North Hollywood, California. Barris is best known for his custom work on the "Batmobile", which was of course originally the 1955 Lincoln Futura show car. Barris also customized cars for celebrities and anyone else who could afford the cost of distinction. Barris contracted with Universal Coach of Los Angeles and Detroit to build these specially-ordered cars, which could be ordered through any Cadillac dealer.

Unique in appearance, this Cadillac was ordered with just about every option. It was repainted in 1976 because the car was taken in a divorce and hid for years. When re-located, the owner decided to repaint because some surface rust had developed due to a leaking roof where the car was concealed. The paint has a very deep shine. See pictures of reflections, they are VERY clear. The roof shows the most age (from pillars up). It is a driver quality car which actually runs and drives EXCELLENT. You can hardly hear it run it’s so smooth. The A/C does not blow cold. The car has always been professionally maintained with no expenses spared. The owner installed a viper alarm system which I found out works quite well. Part of the Del Caballero package is a sliding sunroof which also works well.

The chrome is in brilliant (See picture of mirror reflection). There are a couple minor dings in rear chrome near taillight. There is some bubbling on some areas of the body which is pictured. The vinyl top is original and has been repaired at the seams (looks like a clear epoxy glue) but is in nice shape and is original. The interior is all original and in EXCELLENT shape. No rips or even signs of wear in the seats. The seats are in excellent condition. Headliner is in good shape but does show some age. All power windows operate well. The doors shut like new and do NOT sag at all. Original floor mats are in excellent condition.
