Vehicle Detail
1973 Triumph TR7RV Tiger 750. 5,397 Original Miles. Clear MA Title. Serial NumberTR7RVDH29889. Manufactured April 1973 Meriden, England. One of approximately 1500 units shipped to the American Market. The Bad News: This Tiger has some bad chrome and oxidation. The left turn signal doesn’t want to work and the buyer should upgrade the brake hoses, so the caliper doesn’t bind. The Good News: It is a two owner example that is unrestored and very streetable. It features a stock 230 Main Jet with Factory Exhaust. Because it has been set up with proper ignition timing, and good valve adjustment along with a professionally rebuilt Amal 930 carburetor, this Tiger 750 runs properly with very good starting and idling characteristics. The primary has been completely cleaned, inspected and gone through with new Barnett friction and pressure plates, new bronze thrust washer, tri-plex chain and stator grommet to keep things oil tight. It also boasts a new 20 Tooth Compensation Sprocket and Inner Primary Seals with new 530 roller chain to keep the revs down. The master cylinder is rebuilt and the front caliper has been disassembled with dual pistons cleaned, polished and refitted. There is an AGM sealed battery to prevent future surprises. The machine was slated for a cosmetic restoration, but was mechanically quality-assured first and has been a delight to ride. It pulls strong with no hesitation and has a slick shifting five speed gear box that functions like the day it was delivered. Like all the TR7RVs they are unique because of low production, single carburetor set up for ease of maintenance and superior torque characterics over the evergreen Bonneville. This 1973 Model Year is the only year to have the Full Front Fender with traditional top mounting brackets, Conical Hub Rear Wheel set up with the Lockheed Front Disc brake hardware up front. Not only is it esthetically pleasing, this configuration is up to the task of managing the Tiger’s attractive power-to-weigh ratio. Since this machine is a later production model year 1973(04-73)TR7RV it features the desirable and sturdy Ten Bolt Cylinder Head with higher compression and true 747cc displacement along with a modern five speed which had been introduced mid year from the previous model run. If you are looking at a legitmate, nicely running, unrestored 1973 Tiger this may be worth a look. Bid with confidence as what-you-see-is-what-you-get.
