For sale locally, reserve the right to end early if sold locally. On May-19-11 at 11:53:54 PDT, seller added the following information: May 19th , 2011 2:45 pm - DTO Can you flat tow it? Yes. The Quadratrac transfer case was converted to a part-time transfer case from the full time case that used cones. When you select 4 wheel drive on the dash, it splits the power to both axles. Additionally, a low range unit was added to the transfer case to give it a 2.57 low range. It has a true neutral that allows both axles to free spin. The lever is at the drivers floorboard. – See photo. Does the Jeep come with a Hard Top? Yes. It is included free with the winning bid. It is in OK condition. It needs a coat of paint or liner rolled on it to be in great condition. There are also metal doors with roll up windows paint green to match and YJ half doors also included. But yes, all of this is included free to the winning bidder. How does it drive at high speed? At 60 mph the RPM’s are really turning due to the 4.56 gears in the axles. If you need a Jeep to travel on the highway, get one with smaller tires and gears. It tracks fine and does not dart around but I don’t drive in faster than 65 mph. Are you looking for trades? This sale is funding a future pontoon boat purchase for the family. So, I guess if you have a pontoon boat to offer. Is there a reserve? No. Is the Tub a fiberglass tub, OEM or something else? No. Original with original VIN plate still on firewall. From the research I have done, it started life as a yellow CJ7 with 258 straight six and Automatic tranny. The floor pans were thin and had holes so they were treated with Eastwoods Rust Converter. Then new floor pans were welded over, riveted and sealed in. I say this because the old rusty floors are visible from the bottom. U Pol liner was sprayed inside the tub to protect it and has done well. A few places it split and or peeled up and was repaired. There are drain holes so you can wash it out and carpet under the rear seat and toolbox. It is an original tub and looks the worse from underneath. See additional photos. How does the battery system work? For details, visit Painless Wirings website and look up Dual Waterproof Battery System. It basically allows you to control both batteries together or individually. I run it in the middle so both charge as I drive but a start and run electric off primary. So if the primary dies, I can switch to the other and keep rolling. Also I have the winch wired to secondary battery. Control switch mounted on dash. See photo. What is the bow for on the top? It keeps tension on the bimini top so it doesn’t flap when you drive. It also allows rain water to shed off instead of collecting like a pond in the top. See photos. Can older style fenders be added back to the rear? I don’t think so. After the metal fenders were added to the tub, the wheel wells were clearanced to allow the 35” tires to travel and axle to flex without rubbing tire. See photos. How does the tow bar attach? The quick disconnects bolt to the bumper. I welded mine to make it permanent and more secure. You put the tow bar up to it, insert pin and lock it down. See photo. Does it have heat? No. The fresh intake is blocked off and fan and duct removed. I do have a NEW Heatercraft Moab heater setup still in the box that goes with. It mounts behind the dash, you plumb into the cooling lines and attach ducts. It will chase you out of the cab. It also adds defrost for windshield. See photo. Are the louvers in the hood just for looks? No they are real. When on the trail at idle or stuck in traffic, the heat needs a place to go. The Flex lite fans do a great job of moving air in thru the radiator and out the hood louvers. The radiator is a three row aluminum . See photo. Who made the rear driveshaft? Curtis Tatton in Utah. He made it to fit this application. HD u-joints and room to compress and extend. Being this short it does have a slight vibration from 48 to 53 mph. See photo. Emissions legal? Not sure. We do not have to pass emissions in SC. It is a carbureted engine. Why is the Tranny Pan welded? Once everything was setup to the current spec, I had a problem with the bolts backing out. So for peace of mind I added three tacks on each side to the frame to insure the pan stayed tight. To drop just hit with a Dremel. They are just tack welds. See photo. Does the engine leak, blow oil out, smoke or other leaks? No. Starts right up, has electric choke on carb to help with cold mornings and run good at start. Doe not blow oil out anywhere. Does not smoke. No other leaks except after a few days you get a drip from the tranny pan. A new gasket would knock that out.18 New photos added: https://picasaweb.google.com/irmosc/May192011#
