Vehicle Detail

1963 Willys Traveler 230 powered project. Ex Southern California Border Patrol rare 230 OHC Traveler 1 of 194 built. First mass produced overhead cam motor in the US. Frame, body tag, GSA brass tag and title numbers all match. Running gear is all new or rebuilt. Original engine is a fresh .30" over build, transmission/transfer case have new seals, gaskets, bearings and any questionable parts replaced. Front and rear axles have new bearings, seals, gaskets, brakes and wheel cylinders with new hoses included as well as new Military tires. New tie rod ends, pivot bolt with re-arched springs with all new bushings. Body is very solid underneath where it needs no repair. Topside the floors, floor of in-cab tool boxes under seat, rear opening around doors and rear wheels wells are solid. Front doors and cargo doors are very solid. The bottom of the kick panels and the edge where the rear side window rubbers held dirt need attention. Included are kick panels from a Wagon and the entire top section from both sides of another Delivery to be used instead of repro stuff. Believe there are at least 1 of everything needed many which are NOS and in some cases 2 or 3 of each part. Missing are the rear jump seats, interior masonite panels and 4 rear side glasses. All "Traveler" specific parts are included (both gas tanks cleaned up and ready to go, 2 step plates for rear bumper etc). Everything pictured included plus more such as rear tank skid plate, rear bumper corner pieces, alternator and generator however I can't be 100% it's all there but feel it mostly is, if not should be just Wagon stuff and easily sourced. I'm still looking around for things that might be needed even if just for a spare. Last picture shows it all packed up (TETRIS pays off) with anything water might hurt enveloped and cinched up in a plastic tarp. If new owner picks up personally bring a truck and I'll throw in more spares. Comes with clear open title. I just can't seem to get to it and I'm looking to get another 1957 to 1967 HD Sportster, that I haven't found yet, with the funds. Gonna take a beating on this but that's better than it sitting here deteriorating, the opening bid is the reserve. Do a little research and hopefully you'll appreciate the rarity of a Traveler, add the fact it's an even rarer 230 powered rig and it's history as a Border Patrol rig it's probably the only one on the planet. High bidder IS the buyer. Less than 10 positive feedbacks must email me that they understand what's going on here or bid will be cancelled. Please ask any and all questions, will do my best to answer, if needed send me a number and I'll call you. Try uship & Yesterdays Tractors for shipping. The vintage tractor guys do a lot of buying and selling and most everything has to be trailered, I've had good results over the years using their site. Thanks, Mike
