TDI diesel with manual transmission for dependable, high fuel mileage. Pearlescent silver exterior with cream-colored (leatherette) interior. A real nice car, and, with only 2872 miles, is basically a new car. This is a water-damaged car. The broker that I purchased it from stated that the vehicle had slid into Lake Travis, near Austin, Texas. The car needs someone who has the time and patience to do the necessary troubleshooting to determine what needs to be repaired/replaced/cleaned to make it driveable, once again. The engine does not start. The vehicle currently has a Texas Salvage Vehicle Title (pink-colored). Check with your state motor vehicle department to see what is required to title the vehicle in your state. Vehicle is sold 'As-is' with no warranty. The vehicle is located in Northfield, MN. With the "Buy It Now" price, I will include (2) oil filters, (1) air filter, (1) fuel filter, and (1) cabin filter (all Mann brand (OEM)), along with a new Bentley 2005-2010 Jetta Service Manual (hardback, not CD), all worth well over $200.On May-17-11 at 15:11:09 PDT, seller added the following information:I have been bombarded with questions and am unable to answer individually. (I am on the road the next few days and have limited access to the internet.) I will try and answer the most common: 1. I do not know how high the water reached; there is no "water line" or stain present. It appears that the vehicle entered the water at the front, based on residue in the headlights and no traces in the rear lights or rear compartment. I am guessing that it was fresh water, but cannot say for certain. (No stain or etching on the body anywhere.) 2. The interior is spotless and absolutely no smells. The car has been sitting in my garage since November, collecting dust. 3. I connected a battery and the only thing that seems to operate is the right turn signal. I tried to start the engine, but the starter does not operate; nothing else does. The broker I bought from stated that the engine turns over; not sure how he checked, though. 4. There is no trace of water in the engine oil. 5. I do not know what it will take to repair the car. I talked with a mechanic and he told me that sometimes the condensation inside can do just as much damage to the electronics. I was planning to buy a parts car that was taco'ed, take the parts off that this car needs, and sell the rest. Right after I bought the car, my business picked up and I have been working seven days a week. I just don't have the time. As the saying goes: my loss; your gain.
