Vehicle Detail
1976 Triumph Spitfire. The 76 is very rare as it has the 9.1 compression and produces over 100mph the only year it was made. It really is one coolest little rag top British race cars ever. This Car is more than well cared for it is babied and pamper. If you’re looking for a car to take to the car show, or just cruise around on the weekend having fun then this is the car for you. We take it for ice cream and get the groceries on lazy Sundays and have had tons of fun with it. Hard to take it anywhere without people wanting to talk to you about I,t or tell you how much they like it. In fact I don't think I have ever pulled it out of the garage without someone stopping to say something. Shows only 69K but the titled is marked NON-ACTUAL Odometer Discrepancy (There is no number spot for 100,000 so this might very well be 169k I have no idea. Titled is mark such) allot of these cars you see on ebay will say the number showing but actually be over the 100k mark since once they got to 99,999 they turned back to zero. Updates that I know of Consist of the following that all came out of the Moss Triumph Catalog Stainless Steel Exhaust 239.00 Bottom Radiator Hose New Top New tuano cover Panasport Wheels 249.00 famous in racing circles. The tires look Brand New. They still have nubbies Headlamp Stone Guards Crane Electronic Ignition $130.00 makes for faster starts and better performance. Alternator 149.00 Roll Bar $329.00 Luggage rack $250.00 Has been repainted racing green and even has large magnetic number 44 racing numbers in the trunk for the side of the car. The Car runs and drives great Model Name: Triumph Spitfire 1500 Engine: 1493 cc inline 4 Produced 95,829 between 1974-1980 However This Is a rare 1976 model year, where the compression was raised to 9:1. This model produced over 100 mph (160 km/h). Most could not reach these kinds of speeds. However I can tell you from driving the Car that this car is made for cruising around town not for racing down the highway at 80 mph. Things that I know the car needs or has an issue with. 1. The cd player does not work. 2. The glass on the passenger’s side mirror feel out. (This is about 30.00 or less) 3. The wood dash has pealing to it and could use replaced. It is about the only thing on the car that does not look mint. 4. The temp Gauge has not worked since I got it I believe it has to do with the radio short out. 5. one very very small ding on the driver’s side door a very small scratch right below the windshield on the front of the car and a small knick by the hood release on the side of the car. All things you would not notice until you had the car for a few weeks. Ask any questions you might have. Feel free to call me 330-206-6006 I will not be available on Saturday or Sunday for phone calls so please contact me early in the week with questions I will try and answer all questions before the end of the auction but Saturday and Sunday is going to be very busy for me this week. Thank you for checking out my car and have a great day. I will try and load a video before the end of the week of me starting and driving the car. http://s654.photobucket.com/albums/uu261/classicmodern/1976%20Spitfire%20Triumph/On May-10-11 at 20:45:56 PDT, seller added the following information: Another thing that the car does that is not normal is it doesn't turn of instantly when you turn the key off all the time. sometimes especially after longer drives it takes 5-20 seconds to turn off not sure why the car does this it like chokes out I will be trying to take a video tomorrow if I can of the car and it running and turning off. I also will be deleting the person that has 1 feedback from this auction wednesday if they have not responded. Please do not bid unless you intend to purchase. I will be removing any low feedback bidders unless they contact me before bidding. On May-13-11 at 12:29:01 PDT, seller added the following information: Ok I am sorry but i never took the video of the car starting driving and turning off like I wanted to I pulled it out of the garage and went inside to grab the video camera and then someone lost the keys for 48 hours I found them last night but it was dark and raining so I guess I will be unable to load a video. I have had alot of calls and I have never had this many watchers on anything before over 140 of you right now so i just want to make sure everything is very clear below is a lits of all the things I have noticed with the car NUMBER 6 was just added to the list as I had forgotten to add it before because I never even think twice about it. 1. The cd player does not work. 2. The glass on the passenger’s side mirror feel out. (This is about 30.00 or less) 3. The wood dash has pealing to it and could use replaced. It is about the only thing on the car that does not look mint. 4. All things you would not notice until you had the car for a few weeks. 6. The car does not always turn off instantly when you turn the key off all the time. Somtimes especially after longer drives it takes 5-20 seconds to turn off not sure why the does this it like stops acts liek it might turn back on and then off. 7. The car idels a little high around the 2k and I have read it should run about 1.4-1.5 this can easily be adjusted but since it came to me that way and runs great I don't really like to try and fix things that are not really broken.
