Vehicle Detail

For sale is a 1968 Dodge Coronet 500 station wagon. My brother bought this car in 1997. He had driven it for several years, lost his license and it has sat mostly untouched since. In the meantime, he has had some issues that are going to indispose him for a number of months or years (depending on the powers that be) so he has decided to sell some of his things. That is how this sale came to be. I have driven this wagon. When it ran, it ran VERY well. It never smoked, shifted well, and drove smoothly (As smooth as a 40+ year old car can. Technology has some advantages.) He has replaced many components in the front including tie rod ends, ball joints, front wheel bearings. He said the rear end was very good; he never had it stuck. The transmission had always shifted well. As you can plainly see from the pictures, this vehicle is in need of total restoration. My guess is someone is going to pull the engine and transmission out and junk the body but who knows? It has a 383 cubic inch engine, automatic transmission, power steering and brakes, air conditioning (it looks dealer installed but I am no expert on these old wagons), and a power rear window. When this vehicle was running, EVERYTHING WORKED including the power rear window. Since then some components have been removed such as the air conditioning stuff. As you can tell by the pictures there is considerable rust. The front floor pans are bad. The back is still covered with carpet so I have no idea what the condition is of them. The rear panels are rusted through. The floor where the spare tire sits seems to be in pretty good shape but I only got a quick glance at it. I can't get the back gate to open but I am pretty sure the window has to be down for it to open and there is no battery. I ALSO HAVE NOT FOUND THE KEYS. I am still looking and hope to have them by auction end, but my brother couldn't remember what he did with them. I DO HAVE A CLEAR TITLE READY TO BE TRANSFERRED. According to the VIN, this is the Dodge Coronet/Charger, Price class is Premium, body type is 6 passenger wagon, engine is 383 290 hp, made in St. Louis. It does look to have a two barrel carb. If you have any questions, drop me a note. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT RUNNING. BRING A TRAILER. When it ran, it ran well. Keep in mind it has been sitting for the last 5+ years. The engine is free; a friend of mine turned it over by hand. The tires are shot; three took air, one is off the bead, and one of them that took air leaked it out in a matter of minutes. There actually is a spare in the rear well but I don't know if it even goes to this car. Sold as is, where is. No guarantee written or implied. Sells to the highest bidder. These old wagons are getting more and more rare every day. Thanks for looking!!
