1985 Honda CR

This auction is for a 1985 Honda CR250R Motocross Dirtbike. Bike is in nice shape for it's age. I have owned the bike for the past 3 years. I purchased a more modern Honda with the intention of keeping this one also, but time never allows me to ride both bikes. It just sits in my garage until one of my friends takes it out for a ride, therefore I am selling it. The bike runs and drives and the motor's compression is within spec. Bike has a Pro Circuit pipe and silencer, PWK 38MM Airstryker carburetor, and a Uni air filter. Carburetor is a little too big for the rubber boot, but it still works. Chain and sprockets are in nice shape. Clutch and transmission operate fine. Front brakes are excellent, but the back drum brake is useless on these bikes. All plastic is in decent shape with no cracks and minimal damage. Front tire is an IRC in very nice shape. Back is a Dunlop and is just about done. I will include a spare Maxxis rear tire that has plenty of life left in it. Transmission oil drain bolt hole has a JB Weld repair but works fine now with no leaks. Overall the bike is a good trail bike or play bike. Could also be used for vintage motocross. These mid 80's CR's were some of the fastest 250's ever produced! Bike is by no means in mint condition or a show piece, but is dependable. Please remember that it is a 26 year old dirtbike and has wear and tear associated with an older off road bike. I have taken it out on many all day trail rides and one post vintage off road enduro and it has never left me stranded. When it sits for a while a small shot of starter fluid in the air filter helps the bike to start up quickly. After that it starts up fine and doesn't foul plugs. Buyer pays $100 deposit through Paypal within 24 hours of auction close, and the balance in cash upon pick up. Bike is sold as is with no warranty.
