Vehicle Detail

This 1949 custom (all factory metal) mercury is one the best looking chopped and lowered street rods with power suicide doors that you will see. This low and long gangster looking old school sled was named the STRAY CAT as you will see under the hood along with BETTY BOOP which both were professionally airbrushed on. Everything on this classic ride has just about everything that you would want! On the front you have, FRENCHED headlights / turn signals / molded hood / and a stainless steel bumper filler pan molding along with a new front bumper. Under the hood you will see a well dressed mercury flathead engine (new carb) that purrs just like a kitten or straycat which ever! and the engine is tied to a mercury 3 speed transmission with overdrive, just like the big lincolns and fords, it cruises with no problems. Also you will see that there is an all new Bob Drake wiring harness that was install during the build. Nothing was spared, everything was replaced that was needed during this project. The Eye catching raspberry (or pink) velour interior pops out at you when you open the shaved power latched doors and look inside and along with the radiant red dash and factory chrome gauges, The radio is an aftermarket AM/FM cassett player. You have to open the doors in order to see inside because of the dark tinted windows that are REAL tinted glass (not added film or plexiglass) that looks cool along with the chopped and slanted top. On the right rear you will see in the pictures that there is a power frenched antenna that totally disappears when down. The 1956 Oldsmobile blue dot Tailights set off the looks of the rear along with the shaved trunk lid. If you want to have a little fun you can also play with the custom flame throwers sticking out from under the new rear bumper. With the fender skirts / stainless smoothie hub caps on all 4 new tires and four inch Fatman lowering spindles, this car actually does look like it floats down the road and even while sitting still. Since this car was done it has been garage kept and maintained and completely serviced right down to the new brakes. The Merc was done from top to bottom and front to back, as I said nothing was spared for this rod. The owner customized the car from the ground up, He owns his own shop and has customs and restored classics for 50 years. He is not as world famous as all of the other big names such as jessie james / foose or any one like that but he is noted in the tri county area for all of his cars, He has shown cars at the led sled nationals and won trophy's for his work and his car club (night prowlers) has there own car show of 500 to 1000 cars here in ohio. He purchased this original tennessee car and brought it to ohio and built it into the beauty that it is now. If you have any questions you can call (419) 543-1302 anytime before 8 PM EST.
