Vehicle Detail
This is a 1975 Jaguar XJ12C (Vin UF2G50294BW) with 53,997 original miles. I am the third owner of the vehicle and have owned it for over 10 years. This is a “driver Jaguar” which is driven about 200 miles a month in nice weather. Mechanically, the vehicle is in good running condition. The V-12 is super smooth and strong. I have rebuilt the radiator to improve cooling, replaced the clutch fan, all front belts and hoses. Five of the fuel injectors are new with the remainder having been cleaned. It has new wires, plugs, distributor caps and internals. The Alternator has been rebuilt recently. The ignition amplifier was replaced about four years ago. The transmission was serviced (filter and fluid) and it shifts as it should. The tires and suspension are in good shape. The chrome wheels are very presentable and are balanced. The master cylinder has developed a fluid leak and will need to be rebuilt. Also, I believe the front brake hoses will need attention as it pulls to the left under hard braking. Cosmetically, this is a rust-free vehicle which has never been damaged. The bumpers and all the chrome are in excellent shape. The vinyl top showed signs of rust shortly after I purchased the vehicle. I removed the vinyl and had the rust areas treated. The roof was then primed a matte black. The paint has deteriorated significantly on the hood and trunk; consequently, it is in need of a re-spray (but with no need for body work). The right rocker panel underneath the car and not visible, has been damaged by what looks like the jack being improperly placed. The metal has been pushed up and would appear to be a simple fix. Other than this, the body is near perfect. The interior is very presentable. The dash top is crack-free, all instruments are in good order (oil pressure is not operative) and the original am/fm 8-Track is operative. The wood face on the dash is compromised with spider cracks. The front seats have been reconditioned with new foam bottoms and the correct leather, purchased from G.W. Bartlett. The rugs in this vehicle are as new. The sun visors have lost their density and will need to be re-stuffed. The trunk is perfect What doesn’t work? (To the best of my knowledge) -- The horn, oil pressure gauge, a/c or heat (blower works but no a/c or heat). There is a slight leak at one of the steering rack rubber boots. I would assume that down the road both would need replaced. Included is the original owner manual, literature a British Leyland official V-12 workshop manual. I want to note that the headlights are Cibie and the stainless steel exhaust tips are not original to the vehicle. I've tried to describe this vehicle to the best of my knowledge. Please ask questions before you bid. This car will be sold as is/where is with no warranty written or expressed.
