Vehicle Detail

96 Saab 900 SE turbo. Drives great. Red with black leather. Automatic. 136k miles. Power windows, seats, sunroof. 4 door with hatchback (5 door). Good reliable transportation but not perfect. I have a lot of service receipts including new turbo, brakes, shocks, a/c hoses, battery, exhaust and more. Here's the bad: The check engine light is on for no apparent reason. It reads an evap canister purge valve failure, but even though I've replaced the part it still won't clear. It could possibly be a hose, but the car runs great so I really didn't bother too much with it. The a/c evaporator core has a small leak. It will hold refridgerant for a month on the nose and then you need to refill it. It's $16 for two cans of 134a, or you can get a new core for $100. The radio was broken so I just disconnected it. I did install a new pair of dash speakers (Kicker), but it stopped working a few months later. Bummer. The car has been partially repainted and the smart guy who did it didn't clearcoat the whole thing... so if you haven't polished the car in awhile you can see the difference. After a decent wash and wax though it looks good. In one of the pictures you can see the difference. This is without a recent polish so it can look much better. The engine has a small leak near the valve cover. It's a pretty easy and cheap fix if it matters to you. Maybe $20 and 4 hours tops. I just want to be up front with anyone who buys this car. I work as a shop manager and work on vehicles all day long, so I can be forward with pretty much everything on the car. It would make a great first car for someone, or just some economical and reliable transportation. It gets 29mpg on the highway, and mid/low 20's around town. I set up the ecu so that it would run 87 octane and still put out some decent power. The tires have under 50% tread left. Thanks for looking. This car is listed locally also. There is no warranty or returns. Good luck.
