This is a great running P71 police interceptor, retired from police service. I bought this car with a bad engine to use as a commute car. The previous owner had let the engine freeze and the block cracked at 100,022 miles. I put a used engine from a 2003 Grand Marquie in the car. The engine was bought from a large reputable salavage yard and had 37000 miles on it. I have the supporting paperwork including the bill of sale for the engine. The radiator and heater core were also changed along with hoses. The power steering pump and starter were no good so both were replaced with the engine at the swap with rebuilts. I also removed the engine oil cooler at the time of the swap, I have the part and it can be put back on the car. The reallity is it is just a potential oil leak so I deleted it, you don't need it for your regular driving needs.The Grand Marquie engine is identical to the P71 engine, any diffrences in them is purely in the PCM programing and the car still has the original P71 computre in it.I have done some minor repairs along the way like drivers door hinges, a ball joint and tierod ends, alignment. Regular maitnance like oil changes with Motorcraft 5W20 synthetic blend oil. Tires are in excelent shape with plenty of tread left. Car starts and runs great I drove it almost everyday to work 70 miles round trip. I was getting between 16 and 18 MPG with it average. Almost everything works in the car, the drivers window is slow to go up and may stall, I give it a tug and away it goes. Maybe a tired window motor or worn regulator, both are pretty cheap. The spot lite did work till the conector at the lite broke, just needs a connector. The Ebrake does not work appears to be broken cables. The seats are in great shape, vynil in the rear cloth front, aftermarket add in console for your coffee and "stuff". AM FM radio works fine NO TAPE OR CD Just a radio. Ticket writing lite works, as well as the dome lite and the rear doors are functional from the inside and out. Alot of P71s are missing the linkages for the rear doors. The car has a spare, jack and tools most are missing these items as well. There is some body/paint damage typical of a retired police car I have taken pictures of everything I can. The car is registered and drives if you would like to come and see it and drive it, I encourage anyone to do so. The car is located at my inlaws house in Ronkonkoma about 15 minutes from my house.
