This is a wonderful example of an all original 1976 Volkswagen Westfalia Campmobile. It hasn't been repainted and there is no apparent previous damage except the scrape in the picture over the driver side rear wheel. The advantage of having an original paint Westy over a repaint is that there is nothing "hidden" under the new paint job. What you see is what you get. These tend to rust in certain specific places(battery trays, floorboards, etc) and this one has NO RUST!!! (by no rust I mean no rot or places that are starting to rust out) Remember, this paint job is 35 years old so of course there are typical small imperfections here and there from normal use. The camper top canvas is also original and could stand to be replaced, although it is in good condition for being original. The zipper on the screen needs to be replaced along with the screen itself. The canvas is all intact with no tears and any upholstery shop can install a new screen and zipper easily. It has an original fuel injected 1.8 liter 4 cyl engine that runs well. The bus also drives very well, has a strong clutch and good brakes. Ok, basic equipment on the Westfalia Campmobile in 1976 included: Rotating dinette table with extension, Rear bench seat converting to double bedwith storage locker below, Rear deck mattress covering engine compartment,(the one in this bus has been replaced) swivel passenger seat, Clothes closet, linen closet, Transistorized 12 volt flourescent ceiling lamp, ceiling cabinet, curtains for all windows including front windshield, louvered windows in left side wall and sliding door, cabinet with stainless steel sink ,12v water pump, 7 gallon water tank ,drawers and storage compartments, 1.1 cu. ft. icebox with drain, storage chest, Child's hammock(missing)rear luggage compartment screen for air flow when camping, 110-125 volt AC electrical network with breaker panel and exterior plug-in for hooking up at campsite and other things. The options that are listed for particular campmobile are, pop up roof , luggage rack with buffer rods and tie down hooks that can easily be reached through the front screen when the top is up, 6 foot by 3'10" foam rubber double bed with cloth covers in popup roof for two adults. Also included is a new looking rain fly or tent or ?? with rods but I havent taken the time to figure out how to set it up. It looks as new and like it hasn't been used. Also comes with original curtains. Overall, this is just a gem of an all original Westy. I am offering this vehicle for sale worldwide but keep in mind that payment must be in U.S. Dollars and received in full no later than 7 days after the end of the auction. A $500.00 non-refundable deposit through Paypal is also required in 48 hours of auction ending. Shipping is to be arranged and paid for by buyer.
