This beautiful one owner, low mileage, non-restored long wheel base /5 is in incredibly pristine condition with no rust or corrosion and all original paint (rare #526 Bol D’ Or red) and metal work is near perfect. Even the cadmium carburetor intake hose clamps and turn signal stalks are corrosion free which is almost impossible to find. The photographs shown here do not do the bike justice. In October 2004, his BMW mechanic flushed and changed all fluids and rebuilt the carbs. He also replaced the tires and tubes, spark plugs and wires, points, fuel filter and fuel lines. Sense this major maintenance, the bike has been ridden only 1,500 miles and runs and rides like a dream. The bike has a clear fairing that is of unknown origin, but was installed when the bike was new. It is in near perfect condition without scratches, clouding or crazing. The bike also comes with period Krauser saddlebags and a period chrome Krauser luggage rack that is in excellent condition. An Age Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin from Butler & Smith proves ownership rather than a title because titles were not used in Alabama until early 1975.
