Vehicle Detail

I've had lots of questions about parting this car out and the answer is, I'm not going to do it. If you need the interior or transmission, you'll just have to buy the whole car. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the suspension, wheels, steering, brakes, frame, rear, interior, engine block, valves etc on this car and the underside has very little to no rust. Here is the story on this vehicle: I bought this car in 1997 as an R title with only 37,000 miles. It only had a light front hit, the windshield was smashed and the airbags were gone. I was even able to fix and make functional the original light bar set up and the car was my daily driver, problem free and still looked and ran great when I sold it in 2006. I ended up buying it back off of a friend in 2008. When I got the car back, the light setup, nose and fenders were messed up. The car was running but the intake gasket was leaking gas and there were a few vacuum lines that got burned. I fixed the vacuum lines and it ran fine but since the intake was still leaking gas, I paid a friend who ran a local garage to fix it. The car had been sitting at his garage for almost 2 years before i got it back because his shop got closed down. The car was all put back together when I got it. He changed the intake gaskets, changed the oil, put in new anti freeze changed some of the injectors, installed new lifters and any wires or vacuum lines that were burnt but the car would not start after that and I can't figure out why. The car has been under my car port ever since. I had full intentions of spending some time to figure out what the problem is but I only got as far as checking for spark, checking the fuel pressure at the rail, doing a compression test, all of which were fine. The guy who worked on it never calls me back when I leave a message with questions as to what could he have done wrong. My guess is that since he had to take out all of the push rods and rocker arms, I don't think he noticed that the intake and exhaust push rods are slightly different sizes and if he mixed them up then the valves are not opening at the right time and that's why I believe it won't start. Unfortunately I'm tied up with so many other projects right now and I have no time to work on this so I'm forced to sell it. I'm starting the price at practically scrap value and I'm hoping that I can recover at least half of what I put into it. The cloth of the interior still looks good, no rips or tears but the headliner is sagging. The trunk lock and hood pop handle need to be fixed and the E brake works but the button on the handle doesn't click to lock it in upright position. As far as I can tell, there is no rust underneath the car and the exhaust system is fine. Not all of the original rims are currently on the car but I'm pretty sure that all of the original rims have tires with more than half tread left on them and they will be put back on the car. You can call me at 570 861 4605 and you are welcome to come and inspect the car before you buy it. Feel free to ask questions and ask me for more pictures. UPDATE The 5 speed transmission and clutch are both in great shape on this car and I've seen that alone sell on eBay used for the same as my starting price. The nose on the car is salvageable, the light setup is not and, I just checked, bthe fenders are cracked but maybe can be glued back together. I've already had questions about how much I would sell this for outright so if you want to make an offer give me a call and if it's reasonable then I'll cancel the auction before there are any bids on it. I also have an extra set of really nice polished aluminum alloy wheels for the car most with barely used tires (as seen in the pic that I just added). I've decided to include these 4 extra rims and tires as part of the deal if the auction goes over $1000 UPDATE 2 I've had questions about the engine so here's more info: Yes, the engine spins freely. The starter cranks the engine as normal and the engine sounds like it's about to start running, it sputters as though it were either out of time or flooding out. I'm no mechanic but I believe that I'd smell gas at the tailpipe if it were flooding out, the fuel pressure at the rail is normal. Someone told me that possibly the new lifters are not pumped up with enough oil yet but I'm not sure how that works. Once again, the engine ran great prior to going to the garage, 97K miles is low for a 3.4 and I've always taken great care of it when I owned it. I couldn't feel safe driving it with gas leaking out of the intake gasket so that's the only reason why anything was taken appart. The reason that I changed the lifters and some of the injectors was at the request of the mechanic because they looked cruddy so I figured a little PM wouldn't hurt. Here's a list of what was taken appart on the engine: the air intake, wiring harness, spark plug wires, vacuum lines, valve covers, intake manifold, fuel injector setup, pushrods and lifters. Not a whole lot to try and figure out but my main career right now is an artist and I've no longer got the time and energy for car projects. This should have been a simple fix from day 1 but after what happened, I see no point in spending any more money paying someone else who may mess it up even more (hard to find trustworthy mechanics around here) so I'd rather just take the loss on the car than have to fool around with it myself. If you know these engines, it's probably a simple fix and I hope it is because I don't want to see this car get parted out. Thanks!
