This is an original & correct 1964½ Ford Mustang Caifornia Coupe Sold new on June 17 of 1964, at Leon Ames Ford off of Ventura Blvd in Encino, California. The original owner drove it up in'till the late 70's handing it over to his son to remain in the family. The father & son had the intentions on restoring this Coupe but never got around to. It remained in there garage for many years, since 1983. Making this a Family owned Mustang since new. Up for sale for the first time since the Summer of 1964 at No Reserve Has the original "D" Code 289-4V 210 horsepower, automatic transmission. Factory options including power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, center console & tinted windows. Spent it's entire life in Southern California with the original Black & Yellow plates. Making this a true California Pony. This is an original & a correct 64½ Mustang. Featuring the factory-equipped 64½ exclusive options: Generator | Radiator Support air vent openings | early Intermediate hood | beveled edge headlight buckets | Phillips head screw hood bumpers | unique coil mounting | horns on lower frame | brake light switch on master cylinder | "A" vent knob | one brush steering wheel | Correct early brake & gad pedal | Instrument cluster has "GEN" warning light | AM Radio has a first digit of 6 instead of 5 | Tail light wires to bucket are a 3 wire pigtail | In till recently, the Mustang went under a driver restoration. Restored in Wimbledon White with Palomino standard interior. An Original surviving California body with a beautiful undercarriage. Solid~factory floors & frame structure. Original panels including fenders, aprons, doors & quarters. A new 2 stage paint job was done recently. The standard interior was restored to Palomino. Beautiful interior remaining the original headliner. Original dash compartment or doors never to been hacked. New weatherstripping & window felts were added when painted. As you can see in the photos, the interior is clean & in driver condtion. Does have one small quarther size hole on passenger bucket. The window wings are origianl & where cleaned up, does show pitting. Remains all the original Car Lite glass. The original 289 "D" Code remaining the 4 barrel is in good running & driving shape. Correct specs with no performance modications. Power steering & power brakes makes it easy to drive. Shifts into all gears just fine. There is a minor trans leak coming from the seal. Can be driven with no 2nd thoughts. The a/c has not been used in over 25 years, will need tlc. Horn does not work but could with some minor work. The original exhaust still hanging. Sounds original & idles well. I had the carburetor rebuilt & had the Mustang serviced last month. A great weekend driver or a cruiser, ready for the Summer. This Mustang was built to be driven. Seeks plenty of attention as it's original. New vintage Firstone tires P195/75R14 was added with less then 50 miles on them. A new set of 64/65 Mustang wheel covers were added at the time of the restoration. All the lines line up, doors open & shut promplty. Overall, this is a original & beautiful Mustang Coupe. Turn key - Ready To Drive. Not a trailer queen but in really nice shape. Keep in mind, this is a original California body. Clear California Title in hand that does match the door tag & apron vin. The original Black plates show it was last registered in 1983 and will remain with the Mustang thru the sale. I do have the original "Ford Registered Owner Plan Card". A few service records comes along wit the sale.
