I have for sale here my 1998 international 9400 semi. I will try to be as descriptive about it as possible. It has a Series 60 12.7 liter, 470 hp Detroit Diesel engine with approximately 230k on an in frame rebuild. The truck itself has 932k on it. It has a 9 speed Rockwell transmission with recent work done to the synchros in the rear box. I think the rear ends are Rockwells as well with a ratio of 3.58(the tag is hard to read). This vehicle is well worn, and it hasn't had the easiest life, but neither has its owners. It is a good working, very dependable truck that still has a lot of miles left to offer and a lot of money left to make. It had a professional frame stretch done to it and is about 3' longer than the average. The wheelbase is 294". It was stretched to haul equipment and flatbed, but i used it to pull a dry van and it does just fine. It has various spots where the paint is bad, such as the front bumper and on the passenger side fender(see pictures). The drive tires are 295 75r22.5 on STEEL rims and the steers are 275 70 22.5 on aluminum rims. All tires should pass a D.O.T. inspection, and may have as much as a year left of running in them. The brakes are passable and work as they should. The front drive axle brakes are relatively new. All of the lights work, as do all the gauges on the inside. The frame rails are solid, but need a paint job to dress them up a little. The interior is clean and in good shape. Neither the inside or the outside is in perfect condition, but this truck is exactly what it appears to be with no unpleasant surprises. iT IS A MID-ROOF cab with a removable air fairing on top. MY FAVORITE THING ABOUT THIS TRUCK IS THE MILEAGE IT GETS!!! i HAVE GOT CLOSE TO 9.5 MPG WITH IT PULLING A 20,000 LB LOAD!!! IF DRIVEN CORRECTLY, IT WILL AVERAGE 8.25 TO 8.75 MPG!!!!(sEE pICTURE, PICTURES DONT LIE!!). It has an am/fm/ cassette radio with NOAA weather stations built in. Now for the problems it has: The fan clutch needs rebuilt(i have the kit for it, included with the truck). The air dryer needs a new element i think(it discharges like normal, but then leaks down). The driver side fairing over the fuel tank is loose and needs a new bolt and nut(i can fix it before it is picked up). I dont start and move it very often, so the batteries are weak. I can start it and move it to demonstrate to the buyer that everything works. THERE ARE 2 KEY POINTS I WANT TO MAKE: 1)THIS TRUCK IS NOT PERFECT, A SHOW TRUCK, OR THE BADDEST TRUCK ON THE ROAD. 2) EVEN AT MY BUY IT NOW PRICE, THIS TRUCK IS A STEAL CONSIDERING HOW MUCH MONEY CAN BE MADE WITH IT!!
