You have no idea how sad I am that you are reading this right now. This is my baby, I love this truck more than is normal but a growing family situation and a move is forcing my hand. It took me two years to find this amazing truck because trying to find a rust free FJ62 that is mechanically solid is not very easy since they only made them a couple of years. I knew I didnt want the FJ60 because I wanted electronic fuel injection which the FJ62 has. Solid doesnt begin to describe this beautiful machine. I've owned it since 2007 and in that time I have had the oil changed religiously with full synthetic and all repair work done by a Landcruiser specific shop in California called Custom Cruisers FJ40. I'm sure any Toyota mechanic would do just fine but this is a legendary FJ62 and I was only comfortable having a true cruiserhead work on it. I have never, ever had any issues with starting or running or driving. I dont have any service records from before I owned it so I had a local shop do a full inspection including compression check and it came thru beautifully. Unfortunately I dont have that paperwork anymore but I am totally open to having anyone you want take a look at it. It has relatively fresh paint job. The paint is a good factory color(A little dull on the hood and roof). Clean glass meaning no cracks. Manual windows and locks. It drives straight, stops straight and get compliments everywhere I go. When I first told my wife about how I would get compliments and she didnt believe me until she was with me one day and I got 3! It was a record for a single day but it proved me right! It has- 248k miles rebuilt axles front and rear with all new seals new radiator new hoses, coolant etc... fresh OH of the transfer case(ManAFre kit with bearings and seals) new rear main seal(I only did that since the tranny was off for the TC OH I figured why not) OME lift and shocks OME steering stabilizer Pro comp tires with 80%(At least!!) tread left (Size LT315/75R16) New front rotors and pads Turned rear drums with new pads SS braided brake lines full brake flush tranny flush Man a Fre cat back exhaust K+N filter with cleaning kit Rubber mats Brand new Hilift jack KC aux driving lights Toyota factory repair manual Full Toyota tool kit with jack Upgraded stereo with ipod jack It needs- Front seat covers. There is a tear in the drivers side from getting in and out over the last 20+ years. Still supportive but a little unsightly Dash is cracked Spare tire. There isnt one right now. Never came with one and never needed one... Cleaned/new hi beam contact. They work but not consistantly. i cleaned it once and they worked great but its old and could use a new one. The vent flaps are stuck between fresh and recirc air. Nothing broken just stuck. It wouldnt take long to fix I just dont have the time. AC needs a recharge It doesnt leak but it will burn about 1/2 qt of oil per 500+/- miles There was a little rust that formed on the A pillars but it has been sanded off and painted over when I bought it The temp gauge goes wonky on occasion. example- The truck will sit overnight(obviously engine is cool) and when I start it up the gauge will go beyond red and then at some point settle into its normal temp. I dont know what else to say other than I will miss her and I hope whomever she ends up with that they take good care of her. email with questions
