Hi thanks for taking the time to look at my car. As is says in the ad; I'm the Exective Director of the Automobile Driving Museum located in the beach cities area of Los Angeles. I'm selling my personal 1980 Mercedes Benz 450SL Roaster to spend my time with my new 1950 Studebaker Starlight Champion. Here is the deal on the car. I bought it from the 2nd owner who was the mechanic for the original owner. The car was ordered directly from the factory and shipped to Southern California where it's been garage and museum kept for the past 31 years. On a scale of 1- 5, with 1 being a perfect show car and a 5 being a basket- case, the car is a solid 3 and reliable. Let me break it down for you with the goods and the things you might want to fix at your leisure: The odometer was stuck on 150K when I bought it. The mechanic said he rebuilt the top end about 35K miles ago. IT DOES NOT LEAK ANY FLUIDS I have replaced and upgraded the following: New Radatoir Major Tune Up and wires New Michelin tires Period Correct factory wheels in factory color ( no unsightly chrome ) New starter New factory shocks 2 year old after market black canvas top with original factory matching red hard- top The original color was a pale yellow. Here is what I did not fix because I didn't need or use either living at the beach. You might want to . But certainty don't need to to enjoy this great So Cal Roaster now: The heater does not blow. It needs a sending unit. My shop quoted my approximately $350 to install The air-conditioner needs to be rejuvenated It's got 2 surface dings on each side that dent master can remove for little. IT'S A GREAT CAR. I PAID OVER $6000 FOR IT ORGINALLY AND PUT IN OVER $4000 IN UPGRADES
