Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my very cool bagged 2 door 1962 Cadillac Coupe De Ville. If you are looking for a cool Caddy to cruise around this summer this is it. The original 390 has been rebuilt professionally with only around 5k miles on it ( I have the receipts ) and runs great. Air bag suspension was done properly, interior is clean and everything works. This is a turn key car, meaning it you can start it right up and drive it around town. The tags were just paid and I have a clean California title in my name for it. I will do my best to describe everything in detail below… DRIVETRAIN - 390 Cadillac engine and hydramatic trans. Engine has about 4k miles on it since the rebuild according to the paperwork. When I purchased the vehicle a few months ago I installed a new water pump, new battery, rebuilt the carter AFB carb, flushed out the cooling system, changed the oil and probably a few other things I don’t remember at the moment. It has a upgraded chrome 100 amp alternator and electronic ignition. This is a great running car. The engine does not smoke or knock, the transmission works properly and does not slip in and out of gear like a lot of these old Caddy’s do, and it can sit and idle all day and not get hot. Once again this is a good running car. If you have ever had to pay to have a old Cadillac engine and trans rebuilt before than you can appreciate how important this is. SUSPENSION - Car has full airbag suspension that is well done. F/B/S/S, Slam Specialties airbags, ½ inch Parker valves (front dump valves are 3/8 and rear dump valves have reducers installed). There is a huge Viair 550c compressor in the trunk along with a 5 gallon tank, there is also a 1 ½ gallon tank behind the front grille specifically for the front bags if you want to crank the pressure up to make it get up quick. It has front and rear shocks ( fronts relocated ), all ½ D.O.T. line, and a fully adjustable pressure switch. All the wiring and pluming is ran clean and all the control arms and bag mounts are painted nicely. There are 6 switches under the dash and Dakota Digital pressure gauge that monitors the amount of pressure in each of the airbags in the glove box. The brakes have been gone through and work good. The car is sitting on huge 4 inch BFG silver town whitewalls with perfect tread, the hubcaps have had the paint removed from the centers and have been polished. This caddy sits on the ground !!! BODY - The body on the car is pretty straight. The original color was Newport blue metallic and it was repainted once that same color quite some time ago. The paint is very faded but gives it a very cool original untouched look. Someone added the side trim a long time ago as well that looks tacky and beat up, I never got around to painting it so I just left it on. The only rust on the vehicle is the typical lower front fender corners ( easy to patch these ones) and 1 spot on the edge of the decklid about the size of a nickel where the paint is starting to bubble. This stuff is minor especially for a 50 year old car but worth mentioning. The rest of the car is very solid. The floors, trunk and undercarriage are perfect. All the chrome is present. Both bumpers are very straight, but the chrome is dull on the rear bumper. All the original glass is in great condition. Doors open and close like a good solid car. I have not had the time to wash it and shine up the chrome, but it still looks cool as is. INTERIOR - The interior is what I would consider very good original driver condition. When I purchased this car the side bolsters of the seat were torn and the foam was worn. My upholstery guy took the time to completely disassemble the front seat and material and stitch in only the new side bolster area and add all new padding for the front seat. Another words, all the original flower material on the front and rear seats is original and is not ripped, just the sides were replaced to keep it looking original. Headliner is decent, carpet is decent, all the door panels are in good original condition with no rips. The actual dash looks great but the original pad has cracks in it. Overall it looks clean and original inside. ELECTRICAL - Most all the electrical works on this car. All the power windows work great and all the individual window switches work, all the interior and exterior lights work on the car. Speedometer, gas gauge, temperature gauge, oil pressure light and horn all work. The original wonderbar radio works and searches for stations, car has the foot pedal station finder option that works as well. The heater and defrosters work well. Courtesy light comes on when the door is opened. The only thing that is not working currently is the windshield wipers ( I pulled the fuse out because they would not turn off ) Once again it’s a bagged 62 Cadillac 2 door with a rebuilt motor, nice airbag suspension and is ready to be driven while you finish it. It has both original black plates with current registration and a clean California title in my name. I know how much it would cost to buy a decent 62 coupe and get it to where mine is at, and I also know the kind of money this car would bring with a little elbow grease and a new paint job. I strongly encourage anyone serious about purchasing it to set up an appointment with me or have a friend come look at it for you to make sure it is exactly what you want before purchasing it. Please keep in mind that it is a 49 year old car, please do not ask if you can drive it home cross country or if I want to trade. I have tried to do my best to describe it, If you have any serious questions that I have not answered above please feel free to contact me through ebay and I will get back to you as soon as I can. I will also include a dealer service manual , owners manual and original sales brochure with the car. TERMS OF SALE - non refundable 1,000 deposit due 24 hours after auction ends. Car needs to be paid for in full within 7 days. I prefer Paypal to be used for the deposit only, if you wish to use Paypal for the full amount then you will be responsible for their fees. Car is sold as is. Please do not bid on it if you do not intend to buy it or if you do not have your finances in order. Its not cheap to sell cars on eBay and it just wastes everyone’s time. On Mar-23-11 at 19:15:23 PDT, seller added the following information: I added a couple pictures of the floor area and the lower front fender area. I also forgot to mention that if you drive the car low in the back there is a light driveline vibration at certin speeds. My mechanic said having the driveshaft balanced or installing shims on the trans mount to correct the pinion angle would correct it. If any serious buyers would like to speak to me on the phone I can be reached at (562)841-9848. If you need pictures of something specific I can email you pictures since ebay will only allow 24 pictures. The buy it now is 8,750. If you are going to make me an offer, it should not be less than that amount
