NO RESERVE AUCTION - BID TO WIN! I bought this 1937 Chevrolet 2 Door Master Deluxe in 1982. Today, I use the car very few times a year to take local rides to parks. Yes, it has been used as a master of ceremonies car for a parade or two! The car runs as it should, and the engine odometer reads a little over 53,000 miles. The transmission has about 700 miles on it, if that much. I originally bought the car in Calumet City, Illinois, the famous “hang out” place for Al Capone! It was garage kept then for years by a local family. As you can see from one of the pictures, it originally had 5 coats of paint on it before I had it. I stripped those down to bare metal when I started the restoral, and checked for rust. The body underneath the paint job is pristine with no rust. It was painted in white/bronze lacquer paint that to my knowledge is no longer available. In my opinion, if you are going to show the car rather than use it for a country touring car, it needs a new paint job. If I were doing it, I would strip it down to bare metal again. My objective in restoring the car was to use all original parts. I succeeded in doing this. Year after year original parts were obtained from all over the country to add from the largest to even the slightest detail on the car. The original interior of the car was removed completely, and there was no rust found. Using pictures and literature available, I duplicated the original mohair interior upholstery with the original details down to detailed trim items on upholstery, wood-grain and interior handles/hardware (see pictures). The results of that restoral are evident in the pictures in this ad, so look closely. The interior is clean enough to eat off of. The original transmission in the car was replaced in more recent years. I had it shipped to me from another state when I found it, at great cost, because this one had 500 original miles on it. I put on 200 miles or less on it, (if that much), since the time it was installed. Worth mentioning for mechanical soundness besides the transmission, are the knee action shocks that were rebuilt by experts with new kingpins/bushings, new carburetor and fuel pump, pressure plate, clutch, new brakes, wheel cylinders, emergency cables. The original heater is in the interior of the car and works fine. The engine works fine and it does not leak oil. An original steering wheel was also purchased and shipped to me, in more recent years; it has very little play in the steering and is an original touch to the car. More decorative original touches were added to the car: Original Fulton sunvisor has been installed on the car, new out of the box and in prime condition, ready to paint; there are GM driving lights, locking Chevy bowtie gas cap, Chevy hubcaps, wheel trim rings, all chrome is in good condition (no pitting), it has a custom back window shade, and a car cover. The trunk was also restored, using literature and studying details. The trunk shelf was replaced. The trunk did not have rust and still has no rust! It also has its original hardware on it, and the original spare tire to match the original tires that are still on the car. I moved from the Midwest out east a couple of years ago. Car was transported here using covered transport services and it continues to be garage kept. I have additional parts that have yet to be installed to add to the car, which will be provided to the winner of this auction: --Parking lights for on top of the front fenders --Original Radio --Horns and harness This car was treated with TLC, and it has been over 29 years that I have kept this car in a garage, and continued to add more original touches to it. I used it only locally over the last decade, and very sparsely; As I now move into retirement years, it is time for me to pass this on to another person who can appreciate and enjoy it as I have. Besides a paint job if you are using the car to show, the wipers are not working, temp gauge & clock are there, but haven’t been hooked up, could consider replacing the tires, the back window has slight air pockets within tolerances, and it needs a tail pipe. If you have any further questions, please feel free to email me. On a car restored from 1937 and with the amount of money I put in to each of the parts over 29 years, as you see in the pictures in this advertisement, I realize I will not recover the money I put into this car. Hopefully, a new owner will take this car and keep it well beyond its century old anniversary, running as it is today. Good luck, and bid to win. Notes: This car is being sold as is. It is an antique car and all that is known has been listed in this ad, with many pictures by the cars owner for the past 29 years. Winner should contact Seller via email after auction ends to discuss pick up details. A $500.00 deposit to be sent using paypal within 24 hours of the auction; Schedule for pick up and paying remainder of balance to be discussed by Winner and Seller following auction.
