Vehicle Detail
This is a nice little Fiat 500L; I picked this little car up in Italy during my stay there and brought it back to the states in '06. It has not been restored, it has been repainted but not during the time that I have owned it. The only upgrade that I am aware of is the motor was rebuilt to a 600, along with the alternator which replaced the standard generator which I had done in Sicily. It runs pretty well and could probably use a tune up, in my opinion nothing more than pulling the carb off and having it cleaned and it could use plugs & wires. I have drained the fuel tank numerous times in the last 4 years because it does not go through the fuel fast enough before the fuel goes bad. It starts, runs, and drives well for a 40 year old micro. It has a new master cylinder with new brake switch and 4 new wheel cylinders and new rear upgraded shoes. It does have the occasional sputter....but no backfires and it does not burn through oil. Mechanically the engine and chassis seem very sound; the gearbox oil has been changed as well, the gearbox feels tight with no slack or play and shifts well. Electrically it could use some attention. Headlights, parking lights, high beams ok, turn signal ok (SOMETIMES THEY GO VERY SLOW), and windshield wipers go rather slow but do work. Rear tail lights dim out at times. There is some rust here and there, please take notice of the close ups of the troubled areas where paint is bubbled or pulling away from the metal surface. In my opinion the pictures make the car appear marginally better than actual condition. I dont mean to downgrade the car but I feel it's very important that any potential buyers know exactly what they are buying. There are also new parts which were bought by me in Italy from the local parts store in Sicily which I am throwing in with the purchase of the Fiat. But I'm sure if you have read this far you were looking specifically for this car, I welcome any potential buyers to stop by and check it out. I'm also sure you know of the readily available aftermarket support for this great little time piece... I am an honest person and will answer all questions to the best of my ability. I highly encourage you ask any and all relevant questions. I have all documentation including bill of sale, registration, and title. I have more pictures, and will take more if desired. Here are a few more of what would not fit here on Ebay. Photobucket direct link http://s1083.photobucket.com/albums/j397/whitek75/?track=share_email_album_view_click I forgot to mention it has a new starter and newer battery. Battery is around 1 year, starter is two weeks, nothing special was the smallest battery i could find at walmart, and the tires have tread but are dry rotted...one tire looses air after week or so.
