This 1966 Austin Healey 3000 MK III BJ8 was the pride and joy of my father for years before I was born, and even for a little while afterward. I have a few memories of riding in it with him as a child, although my mother became concerned about the lack of seat belts, and soon after, the Healey was sent to the shop for a complete restoration. Unfortunately, the restoration came to a halt before its conclusion. My dad was diagnosed with cancer in 1995 and died a year later. For years I stored the Healey, hoping that one day I would be able to afford to restore it myself, in his memory. Its sentimental value is priceless to me, but as a graduate student, I realize that financing the restoration is no longer realistic. All miles are original. The body and engine mount are the only items that have been restored. All other parts have been boxed. However, the gas tank accumulated rust and was discarded, the steering wheel broke, and the gear shift cover has been lost. With a little effort and a few parts, this vehicle will make an exciting project for any British car enthusiast, and is worth over $50,000 when fully restored. The car is located in Dallas, TX.
