Vehicle Detail

For sale is a beautiful 1988 Mercedes Benz 560 SL. It comes with two tops, the black convertible top that is in need of replacement and the original white hardtop. This 560 SL a great running and driving car. It has been maintained by and had repairs made by certified Mercedes mechanics, including recent repairs such as new timing chain at approximately 90,000 miles, $4000 worth of transmission work at 100,550 miles along with rear main engine seals and oil pan seals. The current mileage is just over 102,000, I purchased this car last year with the intention of repainting it black because that is my favorite color for the SL's. The paint on this car seemed a bit faded and I thought it would be a perfect candidate. I am retired, and repainting cars is my hobby.. something to keep me from playing golf every day, but before I started, I decided to buff up the original paint, and it showed so beautifully, I realized it would be a shame to repaint this car. The pictures don't do it justice because the original paint is so nice. I decided to just drive and enjoy the car the way it is, and enjoy it I have. I have purchased two other cars since and redid them. Now its time to sell one so I can get another project to work on. I like the 560 SL because the 5.6 litre V8 is so nice and powerful. This car is a treat to drive either in town or on the freeway. The 1988 model has some great enhancements over previous years like the air bag, anti lock brakes and scurity system. Everything works as it should on this car, the cruise, the gauges, clock and radio. The only thing that doesn't work is the windshield washer. This car also has a cutoff switch in the trunk that keeps the battery from running down when you leave is sit for extended periods of time. The trunk is large enough to carry two sets of golf clubs with normal size golf bags. Even with the new engine and transmission seals, she still will leak a few drops on the garage floor if you leave it sit for an extended period of time. If you drive is on a regular basis it doesn't leak, only if it sits for a while. Since the convertible top could stand to be replaced, I haven't driven the car much thru the winter, and will have the AC recharged because last summer here in Georgia, it didn't blow ice cold. The only other problems are a small crack in the dash pad, and as you can see in the pics the drivers seat has slight patina. The tires are virtually new, and you can see in the picture the spare appears to be original and has not been on the ground. Please email me thru eBay if you have any questions. This car is in really nice shape, and has been a Florida, now Georgia car that has been pampered and garage kept all it's life. Shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer.
