Vehicle Detail

VERY LOW RESERVE!!!! This is a 1965 Mustang Convertible rotisserie style restoration project car with a clear Colorado Title. All of the difficult restoration work has been completed. Fully documented restoration project with pictures of each and every step. Literally 100s of pictures taken during the process. Unfortunately, I have run out of time and money to compete this project. There is already over $15,000 invested in this car not counting the labor. I have over 6 months of time and effort invested plus MANY new parts. This was originally a 6 cyl car that is in the process of being restored/built as a 289 car. Almost all of the necessary components to make this a V8 car are included except the engine. This car is now nearly perfect underneath. All of the typical rust areas have been removed and replaced with new metal. No body filler to fix the rust, this was done "right". This was an all original 6 cyl Mustang prior to disassembly. All the original parts are included in case someone would like to make it original again. Below is a list of what has been done to date and the included parts. It is currently a rolling chassis with a new 8 inch 5 lug rear end. Work completed so far: - Media blasted all undercarriage, interior floors, trunk, frame rails and engine compartment. - The underside chassis is complete. All painted (black), seam sealed and undercoated using all top of the line products. - New Front Torque Boxes installed. - New Floor Pans (both sides) installed. - New Inner Rockers (both sides) installed. - New Seat Riser installed. - New underfloor reinforcement pans (both sides) installed. - New full Quarter Panels, not skins (both sides) installed. - New Trunk Floor Panels (both sides) installed. - New Outer Wheel Houses (both sides) installed. - New Leaf Springs, shackles and bolts installed. (not rebuilt, these are brand new springs) - Fully rebuilt 8 inch rear end installed. Came off of a 1968 Mustang. (all new bearings and seals, in perfect condition) Parts included: - Front spindles, control arms and brakes for a V8 Mustang. Came off of a 1968 Mustang. (drum brakes, I had planned to convert to disc) - New left front fender. - New Door Hinges. - New Tail Light Assemblies. - New Front Fender Splash Shields - All original body panels (doors, fenders, deck lid and hood) - All interior components. It was originally black interior, all of which needs to be reupholstered. - Original Center Console. (difficult to find) - Original 6 cyl engine and transmission. This car ran and drove before it was disassembled. - All the components to keep this a 6 cyl original car are included. - Door and Quarter Glass - All other car parts from original before it was disassembled (trim, seats, instrument panel, heater box...) Work that still needs to be completed: - Finish body work (basic body work on doors fenders and quarter panels, no rust repairs just final alignment and straightening) - Paint Engine Compartment and front Frame Rails. - Remove factory undercoating from Front Inner Fenders and refinish. - Replace front suspension with V8 Components (parts included if someone wants to make it a V8) - Replace and install interior and convertible top. This car would be fairly easy for someone to complete. The major time consuming work has already been done. It is currently in a working coat of primer just to protect the bare metal surfaces. I hate to part with it at this point but... it's a great deal for someone looking to restore one of these old Mustangs. The VIN is 5F08T66246 Trim Plate: Body 76A Color 5 Trim 26 Date 21T DSO 53 Axle 2 Trans 6 Keep in mind these are the original numbers not what was planned to put in the car. I'm willing to deliver the car within 150 miles of Colorado Springs for a reasonable offer/bid. The attached pictures are it's current state as of 2/26. Other specific pictures available upon request. I also have a fully rebuilt and balanced 289 Engine out of a 1968 Mustang available separately. This engine is essentially brand new, never been started. Please contact me for details. This vehicle is also for sale locally. Therefore I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. If you have any questions please call Ken at 719-648-7777.
