Up for auction is a nice 1966 Ford F-100 short wheel base pickup. I bought this truck in November 2010 from an older gentleman who owned the truck since 1970 and he personally knew the original owner. The gentleman described the truck to me stating the only damage the truck ever had on it was, he had hit a deer with drivers front shortly after he purchased the truck and when he had truck painted approx. 8 years ago, it had one small rust spot about the size of a quarter on the tailgate around the handle. If you notice in the picture the tailgate does not have the silver on the top of the tailgate to match the rest of the truck, this is due to the rust spot. He had left tailgate with the paint shop and he went back to get it the painter had forgotten to spray this color on there. Since I purchased truck I have bought all new chrome for the sides, taillight chrome with lenses,hood emblem, antenna, new inserts for original chrome on the fenders. Inside the truck I have purchased new wood steering wheel, glove box, window wipes and window rubbers. The previous owner had replaced the front and back glass rubbers along with doors and quarter window rubbers. I have recently replaced front wheel bearings and repacked them. The bumpers,and headlight rings were purchased by previous owner. The truck sits lower than stock, this is because of re- arching of the rear springs. This truck originally came with 240 cid six cylinder, which I have to go with it. this six cylinder needs rebuilding and comes with a aluminum 4 barrel intake. Currently in the truck is a 289 engine with 302 heads and a small cam and headers, it runs and sounds good with the old school glass pack mufflers that is on it and oil gage shows running, 55 pounds oil pressure. This is one nice truck and shows well but the paint is not perfect, it does have a few parking lot and rock chips that is not real noticable. The tires are good with approx. 85% of the tread left on them and the rims are 10 inch aluminum (eagles). The underside of the truck looks good and the only modifications that I saw was where the previous owner moved the three speed shifter from the column to the floor. It does have the original transmission in it and shifts good. If anyone is looking for a nice truck that you dont have to do major work on to finish," this is it". All that is left is small things, like detailing under hood and replacing old knobs on dash with new ones etc.. The reason i am selling is i have another project that my wife wants me to finish, because she is tired of looking at it and wants it out of her way.
