Vehicle Detail
I am listing this Toyota for my friend, the owner. I will do my best to answer any questions you may have. Just ask through Ebay, or if you prefer, you can call the owner at (828)850-0274. Thank you. THE STORY: The history of this 1984 Toyota Tercel SR5 4WD is as unique as the car itself. It was purchased new by a local pharmacist to insure he could get to the pharmacy or deliver medications to homes during inclement weather and that is basically all it was used for during it's life. He lived in town and the small privately owned pharmacy was located in the same town. We seldom see much snow and ice in this particular area of North Carolina, thus the incredibly low mileage. It was not used as his regular daily transportation. The rest of the time it was parked in his garage thus the great condition of it's completely original silver paint. It was owned by him until January 2008 when I purchased it from him with 036,795 miles on it. It has sat in my garage since the day I purchased it except for a few occassional short drives and now has 037,064 miles. THE EQUIPMENT: It is a 1.5L four cylinder engine and has a 5 speed manual transmission. It has power steering, power brakes and factory air conditioning. It still has it's original Toyota AM/FM radio. It has manual windows. It still has the original blue and gray plaid cloth upholstery which is in excellent condition. The gray carpet is also in like new condition. It has the deluxe dash with tachometer. It has the factory installed vehicle leveler indication gauges on the dash. This is called "clinometers" and shows the horizontal and longitudinal inclination of the vehicle, just in case you want to do some serious off roading. THE IMPROVEMENTS: The only things I have done to it is install a new battery, install 4 new tires and change the oil and Toyota oil filter. THE CONDITION: There is no need to ask about rust. There is none. The body is so straight and the original paint is so nice that one would have to look very hard to find even the tiniest ding or scratch. Even the chrome on the headlight doors is gorgeous mint. The bumpers are perfect and the originial white wheels are like new. The interior is practically flawless. The headliner, carpet, door panels and rear area are all mint. I first thought I would take out the floor mats and detail the carpet, but I literally could not find a dirty spot to clean. Even the drivers floor mat shows no sign of wear at all. It cranks and runs, shifts and drives great. The four wheel drive is in excellent condition. The A/C is in good operating condition. This little mini SUV has never been smoked in. I believe this Toyota to be in a condition that is good enough where someone might want to preserve it. Or you could drive it and be as close to having a new one as possible. Maybe even a Toyota dealer would like to sit it in their showroom beside a new Highlander. It's that nice. I am not certain if this would qualify as a collector Toyota but I do know one would have to look long and hard to find one of these Trecel 4WD wagons in such extraordinary condition.
