5 Day Auction At No Reserve - Sold To The Highest Bidder! Prior History: Purchased new at Fairway Ford Sales Inc. in Los Angeles, California on 2-16-66. The original owner kept it well maintained as it was his driver for the earlier years in the city of Corona Del Mar. It was kept mostly original and garaged. Since 1999 to 2004, the Mustang has only been driven less then 2,900 miles to date. In 2004, the original owner passed away leaving to his son-in-law. The son-in-law did not drive the Mustang as it was left in his garage, parked & covered. For years it was preserved, sitting away. ______________________________________________ " It can be restored many of times but it's only Original Once " This is an original 1966 Ford Mustang 289ci "C Code" Automatic. Options include power steering, power brakes & California emissions. Remains most of it's Springtime Yellow paint. Has a factory "Paint 9" stamp on the passenger cowl. Built at the San Jose Ford plant & delivered to Los Angeles. Spent it's entire life in Southern California ( Corona Del Mar ) making this a very solid Mustang. Recites the original Black plates, front & back. Well documented including the original owners w/ dealer information written on the inside of it, owner card with metal plate attached & service records. The original owner had small mileage + service memos written in his hand writing on a Ford manual. Like for example "1st battery $20 10/13/69" or "3rd set of tires 70,800 miles".The miles are 129K original miles & the speedometer is still working condition. The body is very solid. You would only expect it out of a California car. The undercarriage (including floors/torque boxs/frame) is in beautiful & original shape. Most of the original Red oxide primer is still on the undercarriage. The underneath & engine compartment has never been detailed. The trunk compartment was left original & unrestored. Remains most of it's original paint. Looks as the original owner gave it some spot painting to cover up some dings & scratches. It does have the original paint in the jambs, trunk compartment & engine bay. It does have dings & bruises from over the years. Paint is faded, not perfect. The interior is all original & unrestored. Remains the original working am radio. Headliner to the carpet is original. It's never been altered or removed. Bone stock original sums it up. The original 289ci is in good running shape. The original carburetor was recently rebuilt. Shifts just fine into all gears. Under the hood is unrestored. Aprons are really clean and stock. All the weld marks on the aprons are in place. Still remains the original battery cables, air cleaner & valve covers. This is a good running & stock under the hood 289 V8 that was a driver for the original owner. It was well taken care by taking a look at the service records. Currently on a non-op, no back fees. Overall, this is a unrestored 66' Mustang Coupe that remains in original original. Family owned, being passed down from original owner to son-in-law. Rare to find a California Mustang being left original. Can be driven and left Unrestored. Keep in mind, this was a driver for someone. It is in driver+original condition - Not a show car. It's only original once. How many times you find a Coupe to be left unrestored & unaltered.
