You are bidding on a 1981 Volkswagen Caddy LX Diesel Pick-up. This truck is in exceptionally good shape with NO RUST, low miles (95,407), and it is ready to be used as a daily driver. This truck has been professionally rebuilt. The engine and drive train have been completely rebuilt. The suspension, front and rear, has been rebuilt. Brakes have been rebuilt. Everything works, even the radio. All of the LX moldings have been removed, and the truck was completely bodyworked and repainted with PPG base coat/clear coat light blue. Below is a listing of everything that has been repaired. 1.6 VW diesel bored .030 over size, resized crank shaft and rods New pistons and rings New cylinder head All new bearings, seals, and gaskets New timing belt Rebuilt injection pump with new injectors Rebuilt vacuum pump Rebuilt 4-speed transmission New clutch New belts and hoses New battery New motor mounts New shift grommets New KYB front struts and top plates New front brakes (power brakes) New rear brakes and wheel cylinders, cleaned and packed rear bearings New complete exhaust system Air conditioning/heater works New windshield Original glass in good shape, including sliding VW rear glass Interior is original and is in excellent condition New headliner New exterior paint (PPG base coat/clear coat light blue) Pick-up bed box is original paint (to show condition of truck) Four matched Michelin X radials - 175/70R13, 3/4 tread left All electrical items work Runs excellent, very spunky, injection pump timing slightly advanced, gets 45-50 mpg highway at 60-65 mph cruising speed Comes with original LX exterior trim (i.e. wheel well moldings, roof trim, LX badges).
