Vehicle Detail

What you are looking at is a 1983 Volkswagen Westfalia full camper that has 108,323 original miles on it and still runs great! It has a 1.9 litre air cooled 4 cylinder with a 4 speed manual transmission. The van has factory front and rear air conditioning which is actually pretty rare for this year. It has a brand new canvas top installed so now it has the zip up side windows with screens as well as the front one. The van still has the original paint and interior so its not perfect but is in really great shape even though its an 83. The interior is not cut but the beading on the driver seat where you get in is hanging off a little bit and I have included a picture that shows what I am talking about. The body and paint still looks really good but there is a crease and some dings on the sliding door that you can see in the picture where the sliding door is open but it didn't scratch off the paint. There are two spots that have some rust bubbles starting on the seams by the rear wheel wells that I also took close up pictures of so you can see that they are not that bad. There are a few shopping cart type dings and scrathches here and there but nothing that really stands out horribly at all. Over all it really is in great shape especially for its age! If you are far away and considering bidding and driving it home if you win, I would recommend replacing the tires because they are showing weather cracking. Mechanically I think it would be fine to drive it anywhere. All the camping stuff works fine, the sink has had an aftermarket water pump installed so it has a toggle switch for it now and the fridge does take a little longer to get cold then it used to. There's nothing really wrong with the van that a little TLC couldn't help make perfect. The only reason we are selling the Westy is it just doesn't get used the way it should! Its time for a family to get it that will get to use it the way they were made to be used! You can reach me on my cell phone at 951-529-6192 with any questions you might have or if you would like to arrange a time to come and see the van for yourself. I live in Martinez California. I will require a $1000.00 cash deposit through Paypal within 48 hours of auctions end and full payment is expected with 7 days. The van may be picked up later if arrangments are agreed upon. This is a no reserve auction so the winner will get it so bid with confidence! Good luck and happy bidding!
