Vehicle Detail
Up for Sale is my 1997 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport. I bought this car back in October for use as a winter car..but didn't need it and it has to go. I have a clear title from Wisconsin for this car...the auto check that comes with this listing shows it has had a salvage title in the past...Just to let you know so there is no misunderstanding. A little about the condition of the car: When I bought the car it needed the rear driveshaft from the transmission to the rear differential. I replaced that with a used driveshaft. The car had been smoked in so we cleaned the interior up pretty well. The rear seats have some stains on them but we didn't spend much time cleaning them. The interior is now clean, the carpet is clean the car is very presentable...however there is still a SLIGHT smoke smell to it. The front of the car has been hit at some point and repaired, you can see a few runs in the paint, the front fog lights and covers are missing, the front grill was loose but we tightened that up along with a loose headlight holder. There is rust on the rear fenders but nothing serious...you can see in the photos. The car starts and runs well, I have only driven it a few miles, the check engine light is on, and the ABS light comes on when you hit the brakes, The ABS pump doesn't pulse the brakes so I'm not sure what is going on with it but it is probably a wheel sensor. The rear differential has a very slow leak on the passenger side, I can see that it is wet around the housing. There is a slight burned oil smell when the car is warmed up. It appears that there is oil getting onto the exhaust manifold, I haven't see where it is coming from. I can't think of anything else to find wrong with the car. And of course the big question for the Subaru guys is has the timing belt and water pump been replaced? I have no idea...The lady I bought it from only owned it for a couple of years and she didn't have any paper work on it. She had both front driveshafts replaced and regular oil changes. The good things about the car...The automatic transmission shifts great, There are four Bridgestone Weather Force tires on the car that are new, the air conditioning blows cold and the heater blows hot, the original radio works well, and the engine starts and runs well, and the car drives well and I have a clear Wisconsin title. I'm pretty sure I've listed everything with the car that I can think of that should be noted. Please keep in mind that this is a $1700.00 car. It is not perfect but it is a lot of car for the money. Please email with any questions. Thanks! -tnorvold
