MOTO X FOX FACTORY EQUIPPED HONDA LENNY GIGER WAS MOTO X FOX'S FACTORY RIDER IN THE LATER 70'S ON CR 250's'. no documentation available to confirm if this may or may not have been his practice or race bike but Lenny was a Las Vegas resident in those years and this was an original Vegas bike . A friend of mine , whom is also a Vegas resident , purchased one of Lenny's race 1979 CR 250's from the family [ Fox forks and shocks but it did not have Fox swingarm or any other small Fox parts]. RARE - VERY FEW MOTO X FOX BIKES - - HOW MANY STILL EXIST ???? SAME LAS VEGAS OWNER FROM 1994 TO 2010 ! SUSPENSION -THE MOST VALUED COMPONENTS OF THIS BIKE !!! **** MOTO X FOX FACTORY FORKS - 44mm diameter upper tubes - see photo of exposed upper tubes to verify in unpitted/ non - rusted condition . **** MOTO X FOX FACTORY UPPER AND LOWER TRIPLE CLAMP WITH OFFSET HANDLEBAR MOUNTS . These are correct for bike with tight , smooth steering head bearings [ not an incorrect set of clamps designed for a different brand or size bike and adapted to this steering head ] . Also fork stops are correct size , location and proper turning radius . **** MOTO X FOX FACTORY ALUMINUM SWING ARM [ original not an artificial, modern reproduction - this is nearly unavailable ] . Bearings work smoothly. Extra long length . **** MOTO X FOX FACTORY GAS SHOCKS - 17.5 inch length , very spongy- need rebuilt . THIS IS A HONEST , LOW HOUR , GOOD RUNNING , MECHANICALLY SOUND , AIR COOLED , MOTO X FOX FACTORY EQUIPPED CR . A SURVIVOR FROM THE DRY DESERT OF LAS VEGAS - NO MAJOR RUST/CORROSION/PITTING !!! MANY ORIGINAL PARTS ON THIS BIKE VERIFY ITS LOW HOURS - original frame paint, side panels , airbox , rear fender and stock pipe . KEEP ORIGINAL , DETAIL AND INSTALL NEW PLASTIC OR RESTORE FOR YOUR COLLECTION. SOME COLLECTORS MAY WANT THE SUSPENSION AND MAY INSTALL STOCK SUSPENSION OR SELL / PART THE REST OF BIKE AS NEARLY ALL THESE HONDA PARTS ARE DESIRABLE AND VALUABLE TO CURRENT VINTAGE RACERS . Engine starts easily , has strong spark , very good compression . Mechanically quiet , runs well from idle on up , just cleaned carb internally / pilot jet clean , clutch engages smoothly , operates as normal and does not slip , Trans shifts well , no leaks/cases dry, no case damage/repairs from throwing a chain . , even has hard to find original countershaft cover . . No broken fins , original airbox, original kill button . look closely at photos to evaluate the low hours this machine may have been ridden. INSPECTION - appears to be original frame paint and not repainted anywhere . Look at the paint wear and minimal chips/nicks verifing its use . footpeg pivots are tight with nearly no wear , frame looks good / no cracks/dings I repositioned fork boot to show tubes in perfect / as new condition with no pitting rust or damage , original pipe and a trick aluminum silencer in good condition/ no cracks found - . PERIOD CORRECT Gold rims are aftermarket SUN brand with 4 mm rear spokes and 3.5 mm front spokes in RACE READY CONDITION - nice /no cracks / very straight and spokes tight , subframe straight- . I live in Northern Nevada now, but started racing motocross in Las Vegas back in 1974. We raced at Williams Raceway and out at the Jean track where Lenny dominated the expert mini class on what was a heavily modified, all black, Honda XR-75. Me, Joey Dee, Robin Harris, Todd Kutcher and the Ramsey brothers always laugh when any of us got passed and roosted by the kid in all black riding gear. The Black Knight as we called him, was really intimidating. Lenny would pass me all the time in practice, and I was on a 125 Elsinore prepped by Donny Emler at FMF. Lenny was truely amazing to watch ride. I hope Lenny is well, as he is the source of many of the fond memories I hold dear of that time in my life.
