1983 MERCEDES-BENZ 300 SD TURBO DIESEL WITH 152K MILES This car has been sitting in our storage lot for about six months without running or driving. Yesterday we charged the battery got it running and test drove it. We also had our detail team wash, wax and clean up the car. Please see below for more details. -Problems noticed on the very short test drive: 1) Back window discoloration (yellowed on both lower corners) 2) Brake light stays on at the dash and brake pedal is a little soft 3) Left front power seat is inoperable 4) Tires have deep tread but also have dry cracks 5) Spare tire well is pushed up from underneath 6) Left rear door won't open Overall- Engine runs and sounds fantastic, and the turbo seems to be working well. It steers and brakes fine (note brake pedal is a little soft). The rear seat looks like it was never sat in, and the headliner looks good and clean. The dash board has a few cracks and the left front seat has wear on the left outer side bolster along with seat bottom padding wear. Also, the back of the right front seat has a few nicks and tears. The center consol wood trim is cracked as well. Overall, the paint still has a nice shine and look for it's age. However, some of the paint is peeling off of the hood, and there is some rust at the lower front rockers. The floor boards are solid and show no rust. The front grill is cracked, and there is a dent on LF fender. We are selling the car absolutely as-is / where is with no warranty. We have done our best to describe this car with the information gathered on our test drive. Please be prepared for it to need more than just what we have listed. We highly recommend a complete mechanical going over this car before putting it on the road since it has been sitting for so long.
