We have to many vehicles including another jeep CJ so its time to sell this one (My wife's)>. Its a 1985 CJ7 that's very clean and easy to drive. Smooth down the highway at 65 with no issues. No wander in the steering or bone jarring ride. There is no rust in the tub or frame. We bought it two years ago with approx 125,000 on it with a soft top for 6,800. (Currently 131,619) Since then we gutted the interior and bought everything she wanted out of the Jeep Essentials catalog. Bestop reclining seats, front and rear. Black carpet kit, Stainless interior and exterior pieces, shifter knobs, Bestop center console, sony stereo and speakers, Jeep logo deep groove rubber floor mats, H4 headlights(with blue afterglow)custom removable four bike carrier, fire extinguisher and carrier. Then added five solid aluminum wheels and matching Kumo mud terrain tires 31x11.50x15. Tires are at 80% still. We also ditched the older soft top and found a hardtop and doors(not cheap) and hard half doors from a yj (also not cheap) that are very nice in the summer. The jeep came to us with a California smog legal Howell fuel injection system installed that has been flawless. It also had Smittybuilt side step bars, a Superwinch mounted on the front custom tow bumper (for pulling it behind another rig). And a quality dual battery system. The drive train is a stock 258 straight six cly, T-5 5 speed manual trans, Dana 300 transfer case, Dana 30 front and AMC 20 rear. (2.73) gear ratio. Power steering, Power disc brakes. We rebuilt the rearend last year along with all of the brakes, front and rear, front wheel bearings and rear u joints. It does not smoke or leak and runs great. We just smoged it in Jan/11 and paid registration, good till Jan/12. A new owner would not need to smog it upon change of ownership. (Good for three months). We have a clear CA title. Negative issues: The gray metallic paint is fading a bit and the top and door paints don't all match. It cleans up nice but new paint would really match the super nice interior. There is a small dent under the passenger door from the side bar pushing up into the body, approx 2 inches wide. The hood has a small (1 inch dent in the front) The windshield frame had off road lights bolted to it and left some mounting holes near the top. There are some small stress cracks in the paint near the rear window hinges on the hardtop. There are also some small dings on the lower edge of the hardtop. The winch works well but the power out on the cable is intermittent (you can still pull the cable out) Its a long description but I wanted to be thorough, I'm sure I still missed stuff. Bottom line is I drive this Jeep to work and would not hesitate to gas up and drive anywhere. Please ask any questions you have and I can help with setting up shipping or delivery at buyers expense.
