Vehicle Detail
1966 Nissan Patrol I'm going to assume that prospective buyers and readers of this description know what a Nissan Patrol is all about. For those that do not, please refer to the many club and information sites on the web dedicated to these wonderful vehicles. I purchased this Patrol 5 years ago with hopes of returning it to it's former original state. For me, it was a great Patrol to start with due to it's low original miles and the fact it has no rot or cancer. The former owner already carried out the modifications that I had planned on doing myself...adding electronic ignition, a larger brake master cylinder and front disc brakes but still retaining the stock hubs. For me, these were and still are a must for a Patrol. Sadly, he replaced the stock rims and tires with the ones you see now. In the process he cut the rear quarter panels so the wheels wouldn't rub the body and he removed the sway bar. He then added the horrible front and rear shackles and called the whole thing good. Well, to be honest, all is not good. The longer shackles have changed the caster angle and lowered the steering arm....now the Patrol suffers from bump-steer. It's a simple fix, to find correct rims, tires and proper shackles, but I never really got around to doing it. The cut fenders are also an easy fix if you have a pattern from an uncut Patrol. The panel is completely straight with now bends. So that's the bad. Here's the good... The truck shows less than 23000 miles on the original odometer and I have no reason to think that number isn't genuine. There just isn't much wear on any of the components you would expect to be worn with higher mileage. I had the starter apart and everything was like new ( except the outside, hehe ). Everything on the truck works as it should. Every single light works...instruments, turn signals, parking lights, dome light, dash/emergency lamp (rarest and hardest to find part on any 60 series Patrol), headlights, etc. The only light not working is the license plate light which is missing it's bulb at the moment. Oil pressure, fuel meter, amp meter, water temp, speedometer and odometer all work correctly. The heater works great and the blower works at all 3 speeds. The windshield wiper motors are in working condition but are currently without blades. Truck easily goes into to 4-wheel drive and high or low. Truck has locking Warn hubs with original instruction sticker in the glovebox. The front seats have been upholstered in the correct color but the back drop-down seats still need to be covered (I wasn't going to use them). Truck has factory bottle jack and hand crank. I have personally started the Patrol with the hand crank at least 30 times with the engine cold ( I was too cheap to get a new battery ). The electronic ignition makes for some easy starting. Truck now has newer battery. I have the original front brakes and drums, original fuel pump (needs rebuild and install. Go to "Then and Now Automotive"), sway bar, and a few braces for the top that I never installed. Also comes with original factory 60 series service manual and the factory 'P' engine service manual. Truck has a new Rochester carb that works beautifully. Truck runs strong and doesn't burn any oil. The body is very straight considering it's age. The last owner had it painted in the white you see. The shop who did it didn't take out any of the dents. There are very few dents on the truck and most are very small. The worst body problem is on the top where there is a channel used to keep water from running down the sides. Water collects here and causes problems. The paint is bubbling in these areas. There is also a small area on the passenger's side floor that has rust from something being spilled on it. I suggest watching the videos to see everything I've described above (and things I haven't described). I have a clear title in my name and the truck is currently registered until April 2011. The Nissan is registered as a Datsun, most of them are. If you have any questions, please call me at (559)592-4391, ask for Adam. Thank you for reading this novel. PLEASE WATCH THE VIDEOS. ALSO HAVE A LOOK AT THE PHOTOS HERE...... This truck is sold as-is, where-is. Truck is located at my residence in Exeter, CA ( half way between Fresno and Bakersfield ). If you have less then 10 feedback, you must call me before placing a bid or I WILL cancel your bid. If you can't pay for this truck at the end of the auction DO NOT BID. Please waste someone else's time. Scammers and senders of phony checks, please try your stupidity on someone else's auction. A $500 Paypal deposit is due within 24 hours if you are the winning bidder. The remainder of the winning amount due within 7 days. If you are showing up in person, cash will be just fine if you come to collect within a few days. I can store the truck for 30 days, but full payment must be made within 7 days. If you call me, I can be a little more flexible. Again, if you can't pay, don't bid. To those with money and a love for Patrols, happy bidding! On Feb-14-11 at 10:24:37 PST, seller added the following information: Something I forgot to mention... I have new rubber molding/trim for the doors ( not installed ).
