1979 Honda CBX

This is an amazingly “WELL PRESERVED” and mostly all ORIGINAL 1979 Honda CBX 1047cc which still retains the factory applied Honda Candy Glory Red finish. This bike literally starts, rides, performs and brakes like it was just ridden off of a Honda Dealers showroom floor in 1979. The odometer states a very low mileage of 25,300 of which by all indications appear to be authentic and accurate. All lighting components, horn, gauges, electric start, etc., etc., operate flawlessly. The bike is not cosmetically perfect which should be evidenced by the images shown. The fuel tank has some very small creases on the left hand side which could easily be removed by any “competent” Dent Dr., plus has some minor chips and paint imperfections however the inside of the tank is virtually MINT. One significant factory upgrade (1980 year models) is the addition of the rear seat cowling which incorporates a locking storage cove. The top lid has a minor crease where it appears someone has lifted it beyond the intended range. Six Cylinder Honda’s traditionally “blue” the head pipes easily due to their factory lean jetting to add performance and efficiency. The HM exhaust muffler on the left hand side has some minor scrapes below the normal viewing area plus has a minor crease on the top side, however the entire system is “rock solid” plus the bluing may be removable with some cleaning products such as Blue Away. Front and rear tires, brake pads, rotors, (new correct battery), plus all mechanical components are in excellent working order. The bike was recently serviced and diligently inspected by a local Honda Service Technician who is also the Service Manager of the dealership. The First Year Only SUPER SPORT absolutely smoothly SCREAMS!!! This Legendary Series CBX is certainly “above” rider quality however is a machine you could feel comfortable about enjoying on a regular basis that is also traditionally destined to retain and/or increase in collector value.
