Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE 1996 Porsche 993 Turbo with 89,xxx miles. If you are looking for a concourse winning show car then keep looking. If you want to save some money and have a 993tt as a daily driver, then this is the car for you. I am not going to list all the diatribe about 993 twin turbos such as HP,AC, PS, Power Locks, Alarm, how many cylinders, full leather etc…they all have that from the factory. If you are looking at this auction and these cars, I hope you would already know that stuff. Subjectively it is one of, if not the best looking 911 Porsche ever built. I guess it would be redundant to say this car really pins you in the back of your seat. The car is accident free according to CARFAX that I ran and I hold the title clean and clear with no liens. It is black with a cashmere beige(tan) interior and 89,100+ miles. I am still driving it on a daily basis so the mileage will continue to rise. The factory installed options on this car are: XC8(Rootwood gearshift knob), X31(Rootwood parking brake lever), 139(heated seat left), 340(heated seat right), 445(Porsche crested caps), 454(Cruise control), 650(Sunroof), 694(CD radio) The upgrades on the car are: -Hollow spoke 18x8 and 18x11 OEM hollow spoke 996 Turbo wheels. They are basically the same as the stock 8"&10”, except with the extra 1” of width in the rear, you can run wider rubber and it fills out the fender better. Currently running Pirelli PZero 295/30/18 rears and 225/40/18 fronts with decent tread remaining. There is no curb rash on them but there are some scrapes and scuffs on a couple. -Protomotive ECU tune and Greddy boost controller that Protomotive says is good for an extra 50 rwhp. -European clear corner signals with Turbo S fog lights and brake ducts, and the bumper warts have been removed and filled. -Rear muffler delete that makes the car sound like it should and also shaves about 60lbs from the rear of the car. The car sounds great but not obnoxiously loud because the turbos act like a muffler. -Brey-Kruse front strut brace. -K40 front and rear built in radar detection system. What are the current faults of the car? Being a black 90k mile car, the paint is nice, but definitely has faults. Aside from the typical rock chips and occasional scratches, the front bumper could use a freshening. When I purchased the car, it had an aftermarket Turbo S front spoiler attached that was cracked in 4 places and beyond repair, so I tore it off. The paint where it had been was a mess and the best thing to do would be repaint the whole front cover either with a new Turbo S spoiler added or without. The aftermarket ones are about $350. I plan to do this after the winter when the weather gets better if I keep the car. There are no signs of ever being hit, but the hood and front fenders have been painted probably to clean up rock chips and blend the paint when the front bumper was converted to a Turbo S look. It developed a small oil seep on the lower drivers side valve cover this winter when it got so cold. It leaves a small dime sized drip every few days and I have been driving it daily. It is an easy to replace gasket, but again, I would wait until it warms up because it may stop when warmer weather hits again. The digital on board computer works, however, the backlight is out and it is difficult to read at night. Not a big deal, unless you really need to see your current MPG or the trip odometer at night. The interior of the car is very nice, especially for the mileage, and it has only minor faults. All the leather is very nice and the dash is like new with no warping or pulling leather. The driver side bolster has some creases from entry/exit, but is not worn thin like many are. The head unit is an aftermarket Sony CD player, not original. The carpet at the “dead pedal” is worn as the mileage of the car would dictate. A couple of small spots on the carpet and some scratches on the leather here or there is the only thing that keeps this interior from looking like a low mile example. I just put in some new Lloyds OEM mats as pictured. The AC blows cold, the sunroof works and everything else functions as it should. The heated seats are great to have, especially with the brutal winter we have been having. The car comes with all the original tools, owners manual and leather wallet. I do not have the full maintenance history on the car. Through the CARFAX, I was able to trace most of the servicing dealers, but due to privacy issues, they will not release records without the approval of the owner at that time. Since I do not know who those prior owners are, I can’t obtain the records. I only have records from the previous owner to me and a couple from before him and they are typical small repairs and oil changes. The good news is at 76,500 miles it had a new clutch and all related parts installed. This car was once a California car so I know that CA laws sometimes make it hard to bring in a car unless it was previously registered there. I am not sure it matters with this car or not. Also, if you are in an exhaust sniffing state, records show that the car passed all the CO emissions for the previous owner. My state does not have any testing. I have this car for sale through other means as well so I may end may end the auction early if a buyer steps up. If you have further questions, you can contact me at 502-640-9560 between 9am-10pmEST or email me through EBAY. I will need a $500 deposit within 48 hours from the end of the auction and the remaining funds will need to be verified in my bank before I sign over the title or release the car. If you buy the car, I would recommend that you fly in and drive it home. I would not hesitate to drive this car across the country tomorrow. If not, I will help with shipping on this end, but all fees and scheduling will have to be done by the buyer.
