Vehicle Detail

What we have here is a 1974 Honda CB750 K4. Purchased by me from the estate of the original owner, it was delivered to him by Randle's Honda/Yamaha Cycle Sales in Wichita Falls Texas on August 22nd, 1974, and the bike is accompanied by the original thank-you letter written by dealer Randle Forcher. The bike was ridden until 1990, then put into storage with 6179 miles on the clock. It has lived in Wichita Falls its entire life. I performed the following work on the bike to bring it back to correct running order: The fuel/air system was completely rebuilt, using factory Honda parts, including new Honda carb kits, floats, manifold and airbox boots, filter. Honda NOS petcock and proper Honda fuel/overflow hoses. New Duro 3.25-19 and 3.50-18 tires were mounted, and they duplicate nicely the original Gold Seals, which were quite brittle. New tubes and rim strips of course, and both wheels balanced. New front brake pads installed, system flushed, and new O-Ring rear chain installed. Oil and filter, using Honda Semi-synthetic 20/50 lubricant. Battery is new. The condition of the bike is overall very nice, with the original 4/4 pipes showing no rust-through. There is normal dicoloration on the headers, and a bit of surface rust on the header flowers. Engine casings are nice, with the usual flaking of the original silver paint present in spots, but not distracting. Rims are exceptionally nice, with much of the original cad plating still present on the front spokes. Original saddle is in extremely nice condition, with no rips or abrasions. Honda logo is bright. Original factory gold flake paint is beautiful on tank and both side covers. Side covers are unbroken and near-perfect with the exception of the left one, which has the beginnings of a small crack near to bottom. Not noticeable, easily attended to, but should be mentioned. Neither side covers are brittle, and there is no fading on them or the tank, as the bike enjoyed inside storage its entire life. Original side cover grommets were replaced by me with new soft Honda parts, so they remove and install effortlessly. All factory decals are present, including tank and helmet holders. Lower tank trim pieces are replicas from David Silver Spares, and are very nicely done. The gauges are clear and clean, with bright, unfaded faces. Original Koito headlamp. All electrics work flawlessly. I would describe the faults of the bike as some front downtube paint dulling/loss due to apparently a brake fluid leak in its past that did not go corrected, but this can be easily remedied by her next owner, and there is some surface rust on the bottom triple tree, also, I believe caused by brake fluid leakage. Paint loss on the front caliper. There is some minor chrome loss on the front directional signals, and just a hint of pitting on the headlight ears. Rear directionals have been replaced, using NOS Honda stems and aftermarket lights, but they are very nice quality. The bike, runs, steers and stops beautifully, as you would expect with a bike with this mileage. Included in the sale is the original Owners Manual, Warranty book, the letter from the delivering dealer, and the original Texas Title. The original Honda keys are also included. I have tried to describe the bike as accurately as possible. Please feel free to email me with any questions, and I will answer them as quickly as I can. Reserve is very reasonable. Shipping costs are your responsibility and while I will be happy to work with your shipper, I cannot crate the bike. I reserve the right to cancel any bids from bidders with little or excessive negative feedback. Good luck biddling, and thank you for looking at my auction! On Feb-13-11 at 14:49:29 PST, seller added the following information: Clarification on paint: Color is the original factory applied Sunrise Metalflake Orange, with no fading.
