Vehicle Detail
You are looking at a very solid Cadillac that is a nice example of automotive history and it does not cost lots of money to own. To begin with, we bought this car from a gentleman who owned it for over twenty years and he put about four thousand miles on it in all of those years! In the past couple of years, it sat idle. While he owned the Cadillac, it stayed in a very nice heated garage. He decided to sell it, because he no longer had the desire to own and care for it. When my wife and I bought it, we had the following repairs done to it and I have receipts for the parts and labor. Done within the past two months; New Battery, New Water Pump, New Radiator Hoses, New Master Cylinder, New Wheel Cylinders, Brake Lines Replaced, Inner and Outer Front Wheel Bearings Replaced, Fluids Changed and miscelaneous maintenance was performed. Let me say that the engine runs extremely well. No smoke, no noises, no misses and it starts right up, every single time! The transmission shifts the way it should. The rear end is quiet. The car runs well and I believe that you could probably drive it anywhere. But having said that, the tires are quite old and it probably needs at least a set of shocks, in order to have that smooth Cadillac ride. In addition, in spite of the brake work we had done, the brakes don't perform to my liking. The brakes grab, if you step hard on the brake pedal. Over all, I would rate the car mechanically strong. The body is very straight and very solid. However, there are some small spots that I will try to describe. There are a few small spots of rust. There is minor pitting on the bumpers and trim, but for the most part, the chrome looks decent. There is one piece of chrome trim on the driver side rear door badly pitted, which is pictured. Also, the left and right rear bumper ends are pretty rough, but I believe they can be rechromed, also pictured. The interior is quite decent. The dash is gorgeous! The door panels are nice, the headliner is good and the seats are nice. However, there is fraying on the driver's seat bottom, pictured. Also the carpet is somewhat discolored from age, also pictured. Most impressive about this Cadillac, is that from a few feet away, it looks great!. It sounds and runs well! The car is complete and almost everything is the way it should be. The sapeedometer and odometer work, the lights work, the wipers and the horn work! The glass is in perfect shape. The radio and clock do not work and the brake lights sometimes work and then they don't. The exhaust system is also old and is starting to be a bit loud, especially towards the back. I have tried to describe as accurately as possible, the condition of this beautiful Cadillac. Please ask any questions you may have, before you bid. I will make every effort to answer quickly.
