Vehicle Detail
Mercedes-Benz 280SEL diesel, bio-diesel or WVO This is a 1972 Mercedes 280SEL with a diesel conversion. That's right! The gasoline engine was pulled and replaced with the incredible Mercedes diesel engine from a1980 300D. The odometer has 49k miles on it. The engine has 91k miles on it. It is in good shape cosmetically and mechanically. This car goes up in value every year. This car needs a little work cosmetically, but mechanically will run for a long time. With a little TLC you will have the nicest looking diesel on the road. INTERIOR The carpet is in fair shape. Headliner is fair. Seats are manual so they work great . The seats are rebuilt and in great shape cosmetically. Windows all roll up and down nicely. EXTERIOR The exterior is in good shape. Paint is fading, but the body is OK. Tires are like new. This is a classic body style that gets looks every where it is driven. The color is a light metalic silver with a grey top. Truly a beautiful car. MECHANICAL- The engine is in great shape and was replaced recently with an engine that has abaout 91k miles on it. It is a turbo 300D engine. Transmission is in good shape. New fuel/oil filters. Suspension is tight with new shocks. There are new brake lines. VEGGIE OIL/BIO DIESEL: I run my other cars on veggie oil with injector line heaters. If you would like me to install them on this, I can do that for $250. WARRANTY : Owner will guaranty the drive train on the car for 30 days after the purchase. (this doesn't mean He'll pay for your mechanic’s repairs. It means he will fix or replace anything that goes bad. I know this doesn't help much if you are far away but it’s more than most will do. I just want you to know I have confidence that the car will run well for you.) DELIVERY OF THE CAR... -I can pick you up from the San Jose, CA airport. -I may be able to drive the car to you for $ plus airfare back to San Jose. You need to contact me PRIOR to bidding to arrange this. You also need to have the car paid in full before I do this. -I can ship the car to you with the carrier of your choice. You decide who to use. I shipped a wagon that I sold and it was only $450 to ship the car to Oklahoma from San Jose, CA. I shipped a 300SD to Vermont that I think cost about $700.
