Vehicle Detail
Up for Auction is a 1966 Mustang Fastback GT. This car was ordered from the factory with all the right stuff... it's an A-Code (289 V8 4-barrell carb), factory GT, factory 4-Speed. Red exterior with red interior... Pretty sweet combination. The car will need a total restoration. The only major things missing off the car that are not included in this auction are the hood and the transmission. I have tons of parts for this car but can't say how complete the car is overall... although I would guess that the car is 90% complete. In the boxes of parts there are engine compartment pieces, trim pieces, wiring harness, chrome trim pieces, hood hinges, mount brackets, nuts/bolts and more nuts/bolts. I also have the grill, GT fog lights, rock chip deflector, light buckets, pony interior bucket seats, heater plenum, and a spare fender. There's probably some parts that I'm leaving off... but if it's in the pictures below, it goes with the car. The engine is sitting on the motor mounts and will need to be taken out to rebuild before it can be used. The engine numbers are: C6AE-6015-C. I'm not a castings expert so I'm not sure what all the numbers mean, but there they are if you need them. Overall, the sheet metal will need some work. The floor pans look great in places but will need replaced under the dash on the drivers side and passenger side. The only other major rust areas I could find are in the engine compartment inner fender under the battery tray. The rest of the car seams very straight and minimal rust. I don't know the full history on the car so I'm not sure if it's ever been in a wreck, but it doesn't appear to have been in a wreck. The door data plate reads:61966FDearborn09FastbackA289-4V#220565 63AFastback Standard Interior, Bucket SeatsXVintage Burgundy25Red crinkle vinyl and red rosette pattern vinyl11AJanuary 11th, 196661Dallas, TX (it's always been a TX car to my knowledge)1Axle Ratio 3.00:154-Speed Manual This auction has a reasonable reserve. On Jan-31-11 at 19:24:24 PST, seller added the following information: I wanted to add that I do have a clear title that's in my name. Also, I meant to add a picture of the exhaust brackets behind the backseat (for proof that it is a factory GT) but I can't add anymore pictures because I reached my limit of 24. So, if you need to see that picture... email me and I'll send it to you. carrid02@hotmail.comOn Feb-01-11 at 16:31:42 PST, seller added the following information: I had a question about the back glass... I do have a NIB back glass and new back seal. Also, I've been looking and haven't found the gauge cluster. Just wanted to disclose that the gauge cluster isn't in the parts boxes that are shown in the picture so it isn't included in the auction. If I do come across it, I will include it. On Feb-02-11 at 09:55:29 PST, seller added the following information: Underneath the engine casting number is the date code. It was a little hard to read, but I think it reads "7G9". On Feb-03-11 at 09:13:46 PST, seller added the following information: I attached a few more pictures to my account at photobucket. Most of them are pretty small, but the one of the exhaust brackets is full size. Please follow this link for the pictures. http://s1108.photobucket.com/albums/h417/carrid02/ I also wanted to make sure everyone knows how big of a project mustang this is... I've had a few people ask me about the rust/frame rails/sheet metal, ect. I'll provide any pictures I can, but this mustang is going to need sheet metal work. The roof/rear quarters/fenders have dents in them that will need worked out. The floor pans will need partial replacement, along with other sheet metal pieces in the engine compartment... I just want to be clear so that there aren't any surprises if you win the mustang. Let me also say this... If you are in question about the condition of the mustang, please come down and look at it for yourself. On Feb-04-11 at 11:59:45 PST, seller added the following information: Important... please read! I found a Title dating 1971 and registration on the car!!! Here is what I have of the history: 1. I have the title dated 1971 transferring ownership from a car lot to an individual. 2. 1972 through 1992 vehicle registration under that owner. (I have 12-15 of these registration cards)3. Title changed owners in August 1992. I have the receipt for the title transfer with previous owner info and new owner info. 4. I have one 1993 registration certificate showing the owner/address/city ect. 5. I have the current title showing transfer from that owner to me. The only history of this car I am missing is from 1966 through 1970!... pretty cool.
