Only 8,484 of them were built for just one model year, between the TR4 and TR6. In Europe it was known as the TR5 and in North America it came to be called the TR250. The different names came about due to new US emissions standards enacted in 1968. The North American model got a pair of Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, while the European version was fuel injected. This six-cylinder model was an upgrade from its four-cylinder predecessor, which could not keep pace with some newer vehicles. This upgrade made the TR250 run incredibly smooth. This model also came with 152 lb-ft of torque (up from 128 in the TR4), and the car was capable of hitting 60 mph in 10 seconds. Cosmetically the TR250 received a bit of a facelift with thicker chrome side trim, leather-wrapped steering wheel, a new black-trimmed horizontal bar grille and a broad reflective stripe across the cars nose was also new. This particular specimen has been in the hands of its current guardian for over 12 years. It has been promptly serviced and mechanically well maintained, including a complete overhaul of the engine, alternator, carburetor (by Joe Curto), clutch and fuel pump. Finished in primrose yellow over black, this little convertible runs and drives great and is ready to be enjoyed!
