1995 MERCEDES-BENZ S350 TURBODIESEL RARE EXAMPLE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH LESS THAN 56,000 ORIGINAL MILES COMPLETE SERVICE HISTORY INCLUDED COLLECTOR POTENTIAL This is quite possibly the most well preserved, lowest mileage, all-original example of the Mercedes-Benz W140 TurboDiesel in existence today. It was one of the last units imported into the United States, with a production date of August 1995. It has been, and continues to be, the pride and joy of its owners, having been meticulously maintained and pampered since new. EXTERIOR The body is in excellent condition. As the photos illustrate, there are no door dings, dents, scratches or rust. The paint is all original and shines like new having been garage kept and detailed regularly. The only imperfections consist of a small ding on the driver side rear quarter panel and a small scuff on the passenger side front bumper. The undercarriage is also in excellent condition with no rust whatsoever. INTERIOR The interior is completely free of wear and tear, just as it was in 1995. The carpets, leather seats, dashboard, headliner, and glass are all original and perfect. Despite being equipped with no less than three lighters/ashtrays, the car has never been smoked in. MECHANICAL The car starts instantly whether cold or warm with little to no smoke. The engine consumes no oil between oil changes. The idle is smooth and quiet for a diesel engine. The use of biodiesel has never been contemplated for this car. It runs quiet and smooth and makes ample power. I have personally achieved an incredible 675 mile range to a single tank of diesel. The automatic transmission shifts perfectly. The car drives dead straight down the road with no shakes, rattles, or noises. The doors close like a vault and the car feels like a rolling fortress. The brakes are firm and strong with no pulsations. Each of the four matching Michelin Primacy MXV4 tires have around 75% tread remaining and are wearing evenly. Every part of this car is in perfect working order, including the self-closing doors and trunk, air conditioning, sunroof, and all power accessories. MISLEADING AUTO CHECK REPORT The Auto Check report shows an "accident" that occurred in September 2005, which is somewhat misleading. What actually happened is the driver side mirror was swiped and broken while the car was parked in a parking lot. The car was taken to the Mercedes dealer for a new mirror. Unfortunately, this somehow got reported as an accident. The service record showing the replacement of the mirror, dated September 2005, is included in the car’s service records, which I am happy to email upon request. Be assured there has never, ever been any damage to the body of this car. OWNER HISTORY This car has had three (3) owners. I am the third owner. The Auto Check report shows 4 owners, which is incorrect. The original owner re-registered the car at a different address, causing a new title to be issued. Auto Check apparently attributed an ownership change to this event, which was not the case. This car was purchased new in October 1995 by its original owner, a then 69 year-old retired pharmaceutical executive. The MSRP was in excess of $85,000. This gentleman drove the car sparingly, and only in good weather. He always kept it stored in his enclosed garage. In 2008, this gentleman passed away at age 83, at which time the car was transferred to his adult son, who was the second owner. The son had no real need for the car, but like his father, was meticulous about caring for it and kept it stored in his garage and under a car cover no less. I purchased the car several months ago and have driven it a total of 1,500 miles. I have kept it stored in a warehouse that I own here in Mandeville, Louisiana. I do love this car, but have decided to let it go so that I might purchase the new 2011 Mercedes S350 Blue Tec diesel. SERVICE HISTORY This car includes a nice binder containing over 50 pages of service records, arranged in chronological order, detailing every service the car has ever received. Everything from tires, batteries and filters to light bulbs and wiper blade inserts. The owners were absolutely meticulous about keeping the car in all-around perfect condition. All maintenance, except for 2 oil changes, were performed by the Mercedes dealership. The car has run nothing but synthetic oil (Mobil One) since new. The records document oil changes occurring at the following mileage intervals: 1,380 4,308 7,521 11,801 14,436 18,832 23,432 27,020 30,371 32,687 35,771 38,250 40,167 41,550 42,029 48,673 54,532 Some of the oil change intervals were a bit premature from a mileage standpoint, but were nonetheless performed in accordance with the passage of time between oil changes. This car has enjoyed a trouble-free history, having required no major repairs. I will email all vital records upon request. A new K&N air filter in October.
