Vehicle Detail
This truck is a rare 1966 Dodge D300 Utiline Dually, 318 Poly, low 11K orig miles 11K, retired fire truck, 4spd w/ compound low, 4.88 Dana 70 rear, very nice 9ft bed with original wood in decent shape. The bed was trimmed out by Simms of San Antonio, the company that installed the fire apparatus. Has a tool bow below the taigate, but the bottom is rusted out. The running boards were obviously built by Simms as well. I sold most of the fire truck related equipment, and only have the tank, and PA system (not working). The tailgate is in exceptional condition due to the fact that it was in a fixed position. I had to make a cut with a die grinder to open it. The tailgate chains and hook were never installed, and I do not have those pieces. Fresh carb, fuel pump, brake booster. The brakes must have a small amount of air remaining, as it requires one pump of the pedal before the brakes engage. The cab has a small amount of rust thru on the passenger side floor, not a hard fix. Both doors shut like new. Has a slight amount of rust thru on the leading edge of the hood. Driver's side front fender has a small dent. Windshield has a crack. This is a tight, solid, original unrestored D300. I replaced the torn seat with another good seat from a similar year/style Dodge truck Starts right up with good oil pressure, all 8 cylinders tested in the 125-135 psi range when I tested them. All lights, except side markers work, blinkers good etc. 17.5 tires are old and checked. Oil bath air cleaner is not original, but it is a late 50s MOPAR items. Has all the documents when purchased new in New Braunfels, Tx at Becker Motors. Fun to drive, clear title in my name. I can help coordinate shipping and outdoor storage is not a problem so you can have time to arrange shipping. E-mail for additional info or pics. Aaron A. Arnold Boerne, Texas (830) 388-0940 On Jan-20-11 at 11:32:00 PST, seller added the following information: I wanted to let the bidders and watchers know that the beacons on the roof were removed after the pictures were taken, and I sold them. So there are approximately 10 small holes in the roof where the mounting bolts went thru. The door panels are armrest delete. The truck is equipped with a working hand throttle from the factory. The transmission still retains the single direction PTO unit that was used for the pump, and the lever is on the floorboard. The small jackshaft is still attached to the PTO, and is wired to the exhaust at the moment. Also, every document from when the vehicle sold new (as in the photo) are in excellent condition. I am the second owner, the original title was lost, and Marion FD filed for a lost tile on my behalf. It is a clear Texas title in my name, and the Texas Antique Vehicle license plates will remain with me when and if the truck sells. Good luck bidding!
